• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spare key???

Before anyone says search for it, I have, the answers are not clear.
I have purchased a 2013 RT Limited.
I only have one key.
How do I get a spare made that will also start it please?

Buy the key from your dealer, take it to the hardware store and have it cut like your existing key, then take it back to the dealer to have it programmed to your bike..... Jim

Afterthought..... Make sure when you take the key to the dealer for programming that you take the bike too. They need both after the key is cut for the lock. When I got my second key, I just rode the bike while going between the dealer and the hardware store..... Jim

I was actually able to buy the key, have it cut, and have it programmed for my 2012 RSS all at the can am dealership. No problems. But, before you leave, check both the existing key and the new key to make sure they both work. When I had my new key programmed, it terminated the programming for the original key. I had to go back and have them do them both again.

:agree: also with the 13 & prior can be cloned  Finless has the details :firstplace:

Ace Hardware will Not cut your key for you if you bought it elsewhere Company policy..They will only cut keys bought from them..I know I work there....

I guess things are different here in the low rent district of Mesa. Ace cut my dealer bought key AT NO CHARGE..... Jim

Out of curiosity, how much will the dealer normally charge to program the key once cut?

I bought my key blank from the dealer, had it cut, then back to dealer for programming. The dealer did not charge me any extra for programming. Guess they were happy to pretty much empty my wallet at the cost of the key blank..... Jim
