• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spare key turns into a free oil change.

So, today I thought I'd order a second key for the Spyder. I called the dealer to see what it entailed. Guy says just come on in and we'll cut ya a copy. I didn't ask, but I just assumed it wasn't that easy. Luckily I decided to ride the bike to the dealer. So I walk in with my key and the guy cuts me a duplicate. I pay and leave and luckily decide to try the new key while still there....of course the bike doesn't start. I go back in and tell 'em the bike don't start with the new key. Now we go back to the service shop and they say, "oh it has to be programmed" (my hunch all along). So this of course leads to an odometer reading. Here's where it gets fun.....I had always had my odometer set to "trip A" mode and really never thought to ever reset it til this fall at oil change time...They say "how do you only have 228 miles on a 2010?" I said, there was over 13K on it. Low and behold, they looked up the bike records and they had replaced the gage cluster when they received it on trade, HOWEVER when I bought it, the salesman never mentioned it. Long story short, they did me right and waived the programming fee for the key, AND gave me a voucher for a free oil change when it's due, all for the salesman's mistake. Pretty good of the service manager I thought. Poor salesman might get a pep talk, but he should maybe have mentioned this little detail of the new cluster......I can only imagine trying to explain having so few miles on an older bike if I was to trade or sell it. I got all the records now though....Service manager said I could trade the oil change for install of my "in transit" sway bar from BajaRon. I'll install the swaybar, they can make good on the oil change later this summer or fall.
It's all good.

IT'S ACTUALLY MORE SERIOUS

I do believe by Federal law .....it's MANDATORY for a dealer to tell you the actual mileage the Vehicle has on it. Even if the speedo/odo was changed. Big fines are possible.......................Just sayin...........Mike

Wow, with all the P & M ing about bad dealers out there it's refreshing to hear of one that understands good customer relations. Keep ahold of them and let others know what their name is.:clap::congrats:

I knew the actual mileage when I bought it, I just never ever noticed it on the bike as being "0" when I bought it. I was always looking at the trip meter, which was indeed "0", and not the total mileage. I'm satisfied with the way it went down at the time of sale, and today. They were NEVER trying to hide the actual mileage, it's just that the salesman never mentioned the new cluster. Like I said, it's all good.

Kudos to the service crew at Engelhart Power Sports of Madison, WI.
