There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spare Fuses at Advanced Auto for RT

clueless

New member
stopped at Advanced Auto. they had the small low profile square fuses that are used in the Spyder $4.90 PER FUSE  ... still cheaper then dealer which is double that for the 60A fuse and maybe 50% more for the other sizes. I did NOT see any spare fuses in the fuse block under the seat. so prob a good idea to care a set of spare fuses. I am only missing the 25A fuse which they did not carry. but the spyder RT has like 7 different fuse sizes :gaah:

so cost $20 after a coupon I had for 10% off at Advanced. sorry its not an online coupon... and still short the 25 A fuse. figure if I blow the 25A fuse I will pop in the 30A spare to get me home.

I still have to 100% confirm that it fits but looks like the ones... they did not have an assorted package of these fuses... not sure if Pep Boys or Autozone has them ...

The RS has the same type maxi-fuses for the main feeds, under the seat. As far as I can tell, the 25A fuse is specially made for BRP, so it is only available through the dealer. I have not found another source in these last three years. I would not recommend substituting another size.

So if we've only got to buy one fuse from BRP, and the rest can be sourced locally, then we're ahead of the game... Thanks, Clueless!

Based on info that was provided by someone on this site I purchased one of each of the fuses under the seat. This is the 25A fuse I purchased; is it incorrect?

That should be the right fuse. I never found a source. Thanks!

I was just saying to get home or to a dealer if the 25A fuse blew (forget what it feeds) but then I could get by with a 30A fuse temporary from my spare fuses I got.

hmm on the RT are they low profile? that is what I got... looking under the seat they look LOW profile fuses. maybe on the RS they are standard profile and RT low profile?

they had both at Advanced Auto.

Since I don't have an RT, the only thing I can say/ask is- did you take one out an measure the length? On one of my links it gives the dimensions (in mm's.) of the standard jcase length.

Garage is toooooo cold and with the family over for the holiday too busy to even pull a fuse to check if its short or long in length... standard case or mini low profile case...

Where are they at?

I have looked under the seat and don't see the fuses. I guess I am staring right at them......
Can somone help me out?

Thanks.

Mouser also carries the relays we use, I just ordered some extras. I have only the need for the smaller relay, my SE5 only has 4 the same. 893-3011CCR1U0112VDC
Song Chuan General Purpose / Industrial Relays
SPDT 35A 12VDC
US HTS: 8536.41.0060 ECCN:EAR99 COO:CN 66........ I think the other one used has the same numbers expect a [3] is used after the R in the part # instead of [1]

I got some spare relays from mouser also. If you ever use the mouser relays, a word of caution: when you pull the old one out, look at the terminal side and see what terminal numbers are at the top and bottom.

Don't do like I did. I went by the printing on the side opposite the terminals. The factory ones are installed so that the printing is right side up. The ones I got from mouser were just the opposite. So, when I installed the replacements, there were a number of codes displayed along with limp mode.

Thanks for the post I hadn't even though about spare fuses. Have them for car and truck. will go today to buy some

Good tip, I already had a couple installed to check performance before ordering some more. I have had a problem with the original ones, so I'm swaping out all of them. These replacements seem to work just fine, does anyone else have anything to say about them?
