• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sounds like the ST is real

Reading between the lines on the email I received this morning from BRP. Sure hope it has more power to go along with the larger size. Does appear to have an adjustable windshield:thumbup:

...RS platform with short trunk and adjustable windshield?

So it looks like the ST will just replace the RS instead of adding another model in. Can't wait for tonight!

Yup... I know is old. But jut looking at the picture in that URL and the silhouette of the official announcement @ 9:00pm they are the same bike.... Right???? Or at least very, very close...

Can-Am Spyder Hybrid Roadster Development Update [Video]

13/12/2011

Old news Bro

"The Spyder Hybrid will be able to run in a purely electric mode, with BRP aiming for a top speed of 30 mph and a range of 20 miles. BRP hopes to achieve a total range of 375 miles using both the electric motor and internal combustion engine."

I'm still trying to fathom how an electric range of 20 miles at 30mph is of any advantage.....just a'sayin..:bowdown:smoky

The silhouetted photo used in the 2013 preview announcement may or may not be of the hybrid prototype, but who says they would have to use an authentic photo of the new model?

Don't y'all think the spelling of sweep ST akes is the real clue here?

If it turns out to be a compromise between sport and touring I will be very interested in finally making my purchase!

If it turns out to be the ST - Wouldn't it be best to have this model alongside the RS and the RT as a middle option

RS - Pure Sportster
RT - Pure Tourer
ST - Crossover between the 2 - A Tourer with a more Sportier feel

Most of the large motorcycle manufactures have models in various segments Touring, Cruisers, Sports etc
Many owners may change their Model of Motorcycle from Sports to Touring etc but tend to remain with the same manufacture
Brand Loyality
BRP Needs brand loyality if it wants to compete with the others - More models = More Choice = More Owners/Riders
this will help secure BRP - Which is good news for us all

My source said the RS is getting a Nice Facelift in ADDITION to the New ST, STS????

ST Makes Sense

Long time lurker here... And a true sport tourer rider... I think a sport tourer would be a welcome addition to the Spyder line up. My wife loves her RT-S, but would also like something a bit more sporty. Just yesterday, we were at a Can Am dealership and she was asking me if I would write a check for a new RS, though with several mods. She needs a more upright seating position than the RS offers. Even if it's basically the front half of the RT and the back half of the RS, I think it would tap a market that was under-served - your current choices have been limited to something a bit on the aggressive seating position side of things or the full-of-tupperware touring version. A little more power would be nice, but that would be a bigger surprise. If the ST (RST or R-ST?) is what I think it is, my wife may be dragging me and our checkbook back to the dealer soon!
