• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Something May Be Coming Down the Spyder Pike!

Decision sway

I've been trying to decide between the 14.3mm or 15mm, I'm swaying toward the 14.3mm to be safe and to avoid international shipping charges. When the 14.3mm becomes available that is.

Do we have any idea what the cost is gonna be ? I'd like to know if I am gonna be able to afford one of these .

You can PM me the price if need be .

The price is not yet firm because I've still got a few unknowns on the cost side. I am hoping the loose end costs will be small. I've PM'd you.

I have to argue with you on this one, Ron. "Loose" or oversteer, is usually more controllable than "tight" or understeer as far as I am concerned. Maybe that's because losing rear end traction is pretty natural for those of us that grew up in snow country with rear wheel drive vehicles? Or maybe it's just the "drifter" in me? In reality, the only real solution is balanced handling. That's what we need to strive for.

Did some research on this one as what you say rang true with me, but I somehow remembered the opposite. And what I found is that which way is better depends on your driving skill level (according to the experts anyway).

What I found is that understear is considered safer than overstear for those with little or no emergency or control loss driving skils. As skill increases oversteer becomes a more controlable condition which can actually be more easily converted into a higher speed through and out of a turn. So I guess we were both right, depending....

I guess that explains it. I'm a northern boy (Yankee to y'all). We're used to "loosey-goosey" after a snowfall. Not sure how those stock car racers acquire the skill. ;)

More power to the rear wheels than traction available I suppose. I came up on a go-cart then a dirt bike. You can't do anything in the dirt if you're not sideways. Those were very good days! My Can-Am 250 and open spaces in the California desert. Those days are not only gone for me but for everyone else in California....

Finally, I have all of my ducks in a row and all the voids filled in with the RS/GS/RS-S sway bar (or Anti-Sway Bar as Scotty so correctly puts it). If my supplier comes through on time (and they ALWAYS DO... Right!), I should be able to start shipping these by around June 1st so that you can carve up the twisties at the Can-Am Spyder Owners Event in Durango.

Some have asked me about replacement bushings for the Evoluzione sway bars and I will be able to supply those as well.

This Sway-Bar will be a powdercoated, 14.3mm thickness. Delivered price to the 48 US states will be $169. Though some of the components cost more than I expected I am going to try an hold the price down. But I will not hold the price down with inferior components or materials. These will be high quality units.

If you would like to get a Sway-Bar you can PM me or email me at [email protected]

As soon as they come in I will post pictures.

What about us RT riders?

Interested in RT Sway Bar Upgrade

... I am not sure how much interest there is but the RT, being more top heavy, would probably benefit greatly from a more controlled lean angle...

Here is at least one interested party!
I m sure there will be other interested RT owners given the "soft/loose feel" when cornering 2-up.

Does anyone know if or what the change is (and why) between the 2010 and the 2012 RT Sway Bars?

Sample sway bar is in and I will be mounting it today. Looks good and should be the last nail in this project before production. It won't be long now!

this is how i see this great debate iam a hard rider hanging off the seat around the dragon and i want to get more aggerssive i have the elka shocks and an i have i little more weight in front with the jL audio sound system it also has a custom rwo brothers duel exhaust a fresh air intake box a juicebox pro it does very well on the dragon but i want more i got the upgraded brakes n al 3 rotors going to a turbo system later this year so this sway bar debate is important its on my list of upgrades as well if your a new or novas rider the sudden lack of warning isnt good but if u know your limits and read whats going on when u are doing whatever or however u ride the bigger bar will be what u want just my two cents lol

I said the same thing before I was trying to bring a sway bar to market so I have not changed my story.

I think a stiffer sway bar is the biggest, single improvement to handling I've done to the Spyder. Others disagree but I think it has more to do with riding style because the sway bar will do more to get you though the twisties faster than shocks. Just my opinion.

Don't get me wrong. A good set of shocks will do wonders for many aspects of your ride. They just cannot do what a sway bar will do.

The harder you ride through turns, the more you will notice the sway bar improvement. If you don't ride hard or just ride hard in a straight line then get the shocks, the sway bar only works in hard cornering.
