• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Something I'd Like To See On My Spyder

RE: Larger display: I have noticed that the displays have been getting smaller and smaller since the inception of the :ani29: in 2008. I hate it when I have to lean forward to see the time or temp.

For tach readings, I just note the position of the needle on the analog guage. Mostly drive by engine sound and feel though.

Shift Lights

When riding with a group, where the speed fluctuates a lot (a new rider up from, slowing for curves, and such), I spend a lot of time looking at the tach to make sure my RPMs remain over 5,000 . . . I sure would like a set of tiny LEDs on the dash . . . red, yellow, green . . . that let me know what RPMs I'm turning . . . with suggested ranges like: red, below 4300, yellow, 4300 to 4900, green, 5000 and up!

This would let me keep my eyes on the road, and shift based on peripheral vision of the LEDs . . .

I'd buy this farkle in a second!

I saw a Ecliptech Shift-i Progressive Shift Light on a sport bike last year mounted directly above his speedometer. It had the Blue/Red combo and was quite visible in the sunlight. I asked him if it was an easy install and he basically said that if you had a wiring diagram you could easily mount and program the shift points within an hour. It also had a few other interesting features, but the only thing I remember, other than the shift points, is a built in voltage monitor. Sold my Spyder a few weeks later, but I am sure that it would have remained on my radar if I had continued to ride.

It is a personal thing when it comes to identifying shift points, and I totally understand why such a product is of interest to you.

Good luck in your search.

. . . By the way, the RPM by ear has been around for years, ask any old truck driver. I think that was the message being passed on.

Oldmanzues

I don't know about you, but the difference between 4500 and 5000 RPMs is not such that I can tell, without looking at the tach . . . and when I drove for Mayflower Van Lines, I wasn't wearing earplugs and a helmet . . .

i'd really like to see jennifer anniston on my spyder she'll defintenly keep my rpm's revved up high (oh those blue eyes of hers).:roflblack:

I just had my bifocal prescription put into my motorcycle goggles!!

Somebody else, anybody else riding mine after they give me the money to take it off my hands. Guess you can say I am not happy with it.
