• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Something I HATE about the Spyder!

For Quick Clean-Ups

I have a pump spray bottle with watered down Armor-All car wash & shine concentrate in it (Turtle Wax has a similar product). I spray this on then wipe off with a soft rag (usually an old t-shirt) This removes the dirt and bugs for most clean-ups. If there is tar I use a Bug & Tar remover. For the windshield I have another pump spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water which does an excellent job and is streak-free, ditto for the soft rag on it. For a quick shine I use a pump spray detailer such as Meguiars but Lemon Pledge will work just as well and is cheaper. When I really get serious about a high gloss shine I use Liquid Glass.

By the way... is it just me or do you hate the 2013 / 2014 front wheel fenders?

I like the round fenders. These new ones are just too odd looking... Just my opinion.

Also just that many more cracks and cranny's to wash and wax...

Bob

AMEN! I agree with you. Just one of the reasons I will buy a base RT if and when I feel rich enough to trade my great running 2010 base RT for a 2014 or later model.

+1 except I put super bright LEDs in them for visibility.

Honda Spray Polish. It leaves a residue that makes it more difficult for goop to stick. It also makes it difficult to mount things with double stick tApe. DAMHIKT

I don't like the new style fenders either.

My 1200 Goldwing and my Voyager 1200s make my RT seem like it is self cleaning. Those bikes would leak water from places that you never know they had and it would go on for what seemed like forever. Loved the bikes but, they were a real project to clean and dry.

I think cleaning my Spyder is a piece of cake compared to my last Harley. JMO

It was my understanding that you were supposed to leave the Harley in a garage, trailer it to Stergis or Daytona once or twice a year and then garage it again. I guess a lot of dust would accumulate on the thing.

My spider is cleaned every time it comes back from a ride including inside of front wheels and rear wheel and sprocket. If kept clean it is a simple job to wash and chamie. You want a job, just try to keep a fully accesorized ultra harley clean, it can be a full days job.

That sounds like a cool idea!
What is the output of the blower?
How many mph windstorm can you whip up with it? :D

I rode BMW for more years than I like to admit,Over 100,000 on each of the last three,300,000 + miles. They got washed once a year if they needed it or not.I could change oil in less than 1/2 hour.I had a few jap bikes along the way.We bought a 2013 RTS in june and rode 12,000 miles last summer. It's yellow so it looks good even when it's dirty.I think we washed it twice.I love to ride but hate to polish so I guess if I was going to buy something to polish I would buy an apple.

 A man after my own heart! If you are washing, you aren't riding. I save the polishing for my collector bikes. The only things that get cleaned frequently on the road bikes are the windshields and headlights.

Ahh, words spoken like a true seasoned rider! Amen.
But honestly, I just hate to ride a dirty bike. It's just me. :roflblack:
