• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I put a Utopia backrest and two Airhawks on my bike and now the seat would not stay up for refueling. I went into Baxter's Autoparts and picked up a new gas shock that works beautifully! When I unlock the seat it now springs up for refueling all by itself. Yeah for little conviencences! Fix took 1 minute!

Still Looking

I can't seem to find a #4413 Strong Arm Lift Support. Is this Strong Arm's part # or Baxter's?

Thanks Larry! Mine is starting to get a bit tired, so your post has come at a very opportune time! :2thumbs:

The number is 4423 not 4413. The number on the actual shock tag is 4423 35212.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, the #4423 seat strut worked great! I have a Ultimate seat with gas door and backrest.

I bought one for my 2013 RT-S but am having difficulties imagining how it snaps in. Any suggestions on installing? Or has BRP changed the way the rod attaches to the seat and the bike?

There is a very thin metal piece that needs to be pried out a tiny bit with a smallish flat screwdriver. Pry it out a bit and pull on the OEM shock and it will snap off the ball. Repeat for installation of the new one.

Hope this helps

Good info. Mine slowly dropped down the other day so I stuck the big fat gas cap up as far as it would go under the seat to hold it. For us cheapies that works too. Nevertheless I'll prob order one to have handy

Don't let it eject you at high speeds when you hit a bump!:lecturef_smilie::roflblack:

Posted this last year just having fitted the Utopia back rest

Spyder RT extra support for seat stops dropping down due to extra weight of Utopia Back rest fitted

Did consider going over to a Gas strut on the other side to replace my strut but as this works fine and with no issue with it will keep it - Very useful when having to clean the underside of the seat and main frame or to assist when having to remove the panels
