• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. So many complaints about the Spyders. Anyone with no problems?

I have a 2014 Spyder RT. Dealer fixed slipping parking brake in the first week. Since then, 47K miles and no problems.

I've had a 2012 RTS, 2014 RTL, 2020 RTL, and a new 2024 RTL. Warranty stuff!! Otherwise, basic maintenance and over 150,000 miles. They work pretty good IMHO..:thumbup:

2024 Sea 2 Sky. No reverse and they have no idea how to fix after many tries. BRP is having them take parts off their showroom bike to try to fix it. No luck. There goes the rest of summer

Have they figured out the problem with your machine yet?

I’ve only had mine since September of this year so my experience is limited. So far the only issue I have is that mine is put away for the winter……

Our first was the "evil" 2013 RT!!!! Had it for 9 years. Did no attempts to fix heat issues. Bought it in 2014. BRP fitted the heat issue in 2015. We had zero issues really. Replaced the air ride system. I screwed up the gear sensors two Summers ago. While in the shop, we bought a 2021 F3 Limited. The parts supply issue kept it in the shop from July till December. We sold it this last July and the new owner is happy. Side note: We named it "Evil '13" and had the name painted on it! I actually miss much about it. Love the F3 as well.

No problems on the wife's '19 F3L. No problems on my '22 RTL either, except I changed out the battery; it didn't seem to be turning over like it should. The tires that came on it seem just fine, my opinion only it seems like. I do ride in winter if the roads are dry. I just dress for the cold and all is well.

It seems every forum and facebook page is full of problems and complaints on the Spyders. Any owners who have had no problems with their machines?I had a 2023 F3 that I bought used with 92 miles and it developed a water pump leak at 500 miles. Now I have a 2024 F3S which I just purchased new and I hope to have no problems with this one.

I have a 2015 RT with 91,000+ on it. Had a water pump replaced, rear suspension air motor or bag replaced, and a relay in the fuel system replaced. The rest was normal maintenance such as oil changes, filters, and tires. Overall been good to me.

Have a 2023 RTL acquired in July with 7,000+ miles now. (still own the 2015) no problems so far, knock on wood.

Willie

2024 RT Sea to Sky got in Aug 2024 7,500 km. I do my own maintenance, no problem so far... Now parked for the winter.

I just had my initial service done on my 21 F3 (work out of the country and a hospital visit or two prevented me from getting into the saddle much until recently). I had switched power employed for a GPS unit (TomTom 550 RIDER). The switched power didn't seem to work and, since it was installed by the CanAm shop, I took it there for the initial service and asked if they could take a look at the switched power setup for the GPS. The explanation was that something in the ground module got wet and so, $800 later, I was on the way home. The shop told me that it to have "gotten wet" somehow, but never gave me the explanation of if it was the module that housed the GPS on the bike, or they meant the ground module to the electronics of the bike that was the problem. It seems that the GPS was built specifically for a motorcycle, so it should have been fine for outdoor use, so if it was the electronics of the bike itself, I can't figure out it would have gotten wet and not affected the rest of the electronics on the bike. Anyway, that's the only odd duck that I've had since purchasing the bike in 21...

Any electronic device added to any motorcycle should be more than reasonably water proof (or water proofed). Unless you took your Spyder through a car wash or pressure washed it, it should have been fine. I wasn't there and I don't know anymore about it than what you've reported here. But sounds a bit fishy to me. There should have been some plausible explanation for an $800.00 failure.

My questions would be 1- How do I avoid this in the future. And 2- what was done differently with this install to prevent another $800.00 failure?

I had a 2014 RTL with 38k miles and now have a 2015 RTL with 40k miles. The only problem I had with both were the compressors. They are junk. Replaced two on the 2014 and two on the 2015. The last one on the 2015 also quit so I just use the schrader valve to add air as needed.

2 Spyders since 2013. Don't know my mileage off hand. I've had some problems, sure, but it comes with the territory. The worst problem was a crash that totaled my 2010RT, gave me a concussion and broke some ribs. 6 years ago.

I still love to ryde, but often miss the days when I could do a lot of my own work on my Honda 2-wheeler. And sometimes I whine in public.

First spyder 08 RS. Too many problems to list, pretty much had most of known issues including leaky fuel tank , engine rebuilt twice and was in the shop half the time. I used to tell people it’s the best ride ever when it’s not in shop. Big part of problem was dealers didn’t know what to do when there were problems.

2nd, 15 RS bought used with 700 miles.
Much better with just extra chattery clutch until all check engine lights lit up like Christmas tree. It brought back bad memories of first one so I sold it but may not have been that big an issue.

3rd, 15 rss with 10k miles.
So far so good after 2000 miles, I’m hopeful it stays that way.

Although it has given me so much problems, it is still the best ride out there.
I’m really hoping I like the next renewed model, f3 I suppose so I am not forced to take chance on a used RS again.
