• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So it's my turn... (DPS issues)

Steering Update

I too have been avoiding the recall update. Gotta take mine in soon for the 12K service, so hopefully I won't be stranded in the same spot SpyderGirl was!

Well we rode her into work today and I noticed that "hiccup" again when I was turning (cold engine, low speed). It was very brief, happened three times, and I got to work without any lights, codes, or incidents. I hope it doesn't return or it was just my imagination. We shall see.

Hopefully you'll have better luck that most Pat. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hope you make it home from work ok!

Yeah, no problem. My husband said he didn't feel it when he rode home this afternoon. Maybe it was a rut in the road, I dunno.

.... I don't like that feeling of hypersensitivity to an issue once you've been concerned by it. (Is it still bad or did I imagine that....) :sour:

We were running down I-95 at a very good clip trying to get to Daytona in time for the owners event. I was ryding in the rear, and noticed my wife's Spyder wiggle a couple of times in a strange way. When we stopped for breakfast, I asked her what she was doing. She stated the Spyder seemed like it was drifting to the left a little, and when she went to steer it back to the right she had to use a little more force than she expected to, and it popped back in.

After we ate, I pushed on all of her relays to make sure they were firmly seated, and took it for a run down the road. I didn't have any problems with it, and told her to just be aware of it and signal me if it started to happen again. We made it to Daytona, did all the ryding we wanted to, and made it back home again with no issues whatsoever. Curt hooked it up to BUDS at the Speedway for us to check things out which I thought was a very good thing.

I hope yours was this same type of scenario and you won't have any more problems either.

Well I picked up my spyder after the DPS replacement. The steering now is more of a floating feeling. On my ride home, I kept hearing a squeaking sound intermitantly from the front end. My wife following in her car commented on it also. Any ideas what it could be? We have rain today and tomorrow so no chance to check it out further.

:2thumbs:

p.s. No squeaking sound before. But... bed the brakes in. In a deserted area, firmly brake the Spyder from 20-30 MPH... as hard as you can. Several times in a row.

It's been sitting a lot... and for a while now.

Iwill give it a try when the rain clears.
