• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so bob i have a question for you on the new bike

Who are you to judge how folks buy there next ride. ITS YOU
thats wrong! AMEN:yikes:

Bad advice is bad advice.

Pretending that it is a good thing to do doesn't change the fact that it is NOT a good thing to do.......for most people.

YOU, however, can certainly choose to do it however you want; just don't blindly advise others that it is a good thing for THEM to do......because it probably is NOT.

:agree:... provisionally!
My dealership is a family-run business that has been there for years. I've been dealing with them for almost a decade now, and I have seen their commitment to honest dealings, and trying to treat folks as more than just "wallets with desires".
If you can't trust your dealer: :lecturef_smilie: DON'T!

the way i see it is that if i decide i want a newer bike, so my dealer wants my bike as a trade, but he wants it now. ok i give him my bike now. the price he offered me is the price i get no matter what. if i miss a little ridding time, oh well, i was willing to sell my old bike, so i did. if for some reason the dealer didn't sell my old bike, who cares, i wanted to get rid of it, and got the price i wanted to. by the time my new bike came in, the price he offered me for my old bike could of gone down. a scratch, some extra miles, a engine problem etc. so i am still glad i made the deal.

I'm still scratching my head? Give away 3-4 months or more of riding ? Hope he is giving you Prime $$$ for it? What New model takes the Place of Months of No Spyder? Whether its a F3 or RT how much better could it be to be without a ride for months? I know Dealers are hesitant about trade-ins because even though WE love them they Are NOT "Flying of the shelf?" That's why everyone should have 2!

A bunch of years ago I ordered a new car. A few weeks after I placed the order the dealer called, he had someone really interested in my trade-in. I let them have it early, and they put me in a new loaner car. Wouldn't you know, there was a strike which affected my new car delivery date for almost 2 months. So, I wound up in the loaner for close to 3 months, no cost to me.

Something to think about, Bob. Get them to spot you a loaner until the new ride shows up!

Usually with trades a deal is struck and certain provisional guidelines are followed, maybe XX amount of additional miles allowed before making the swap while you wait, or maybe re-inspecting the trade when the time comes. But usually theres not much risk of the deal changing barring an actual accident. Some people may be super nervous to ride it knowing it has to be ready when the time comes anyway and would rather not risk it. I guess i can sort of see it.
