• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

if you decide to get a new bike, and your dealer wants your 14 now as a trade in so he can sell it, are you ready to do that. that can leave you with out a bike for quite some time

Really...🤔

With this bunch the new one will be at the door warming up as he drives in and drops off the current ryde... or :ohyea:

Never heard of a dealer wanting the trade before the new product is in their hands. Id never give up my ride until they produced the goods.

some of you are wrong. when i ordered my 2013 bmw k1600 gtl , i was trading in my 2008 goldwing. first thing the bmw dealer wanted was the wing. he sold it, and i waited 2 months for the bmy with out a bike

Wow. Well that would not have happened with me. I dont care what their policies are, i could always just not do the deal. Thats extrmemly shady. im actually in the car business and if i ever tried that i would be hung.

John,
That's a GREAT question. Yes: we are ready to pull the plug on this Season in order to make the deal work!

Pleaese keep in mind that we did the same thing when we traded for the 2014...
We dropped the 2010 off in September, and picked the new bike up in February...

No, sorry, but it is YOU who was wrong.

It is YOUR fault if you let them get away with that.

And doing that is not typical at all.......with ANY kind of vehicle.

It's about making the deal...
By giving them the bike much earlier: they are given more time in which to re-sell it. nojoke
That gives me another bargaining chip, and lets them know that I want them to have the best chance to make money on the deal. :2thumbs:

Wow i need customers like you guys who actually care if i make a living. Please send all of your family and friends my way lol. Customers like that are a rare find and not the norm.

If the deal flies, and I am guessing it will, please make sure you have your copy of Carly Simon's Anticipation song. And...I am hoping it wont be to long a wait.:yes:

some businesses are like that. the BMW guy i dealt with wholesaled my WING out, so he mad a few calls, got me a lot of money for it, 18k, called me and said, john bring me your bike, i got you a great price. so i went right over and left the bike. it took them 3 months to get my new BMW for me

well easy, bob is wrong also, because he did it to getting his 14

Yes, what he did is not wise.

"Deals" like that can get you into a LOT of trouble sometimes.

What if the dealer decides he can't honor the deal after all........AFTER he has already sold your trade-in ??

People sometimes buy a used vehicle site-unseen. Some of those deals come out good but some come out REALLY bad.

Just because it works sometimes does NOT mean that it is a wise thing to do.

Giving a dealer your trade-in to sell before you have your new vehicle in hand is just......mmmmm.......not a smart thing to do, no matter what you think the justification IS.

Every dealer does business differently, there's no right or wrong to it. Who are you to judge how folks buy there next ride. ITS YOU
thats wrong! AMEN:yikes:

Thats a little different than blindly just turning your machine in and having it up for sale while you wait. Hey if theres a buyer lined up, thats different. You sort of have to do it then.
As a consumer im definitely against it, but as a dealer? Makes perfect sense :chat:

Works For Me

That's the same way I've always done it was make a good trade, give the dealer the opportunity to give me a better deal if I give the bike to them now.
But dealing with the same dealer over the years, you know what to expect.

I did it with a 2008 to 2012 to a 2014-?

Planning to do the same thing this year but don't care much for the color change I would at least like a different piece of plastic on it even if
mechanical is the same. Just so you can see it's different from the previous year instead of just the color of the plastic. I was a little disappointed
coming back from the anniversary event.

Traded trucks last year at least between the two models I had on the new one has a different grill and tailgate.
