• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I already have a hot rod blower. A 10 HP motor on a 5 HP 24" frame, which after an impeller and governor mod ,works pretty good. But my ? is:

Do any of you snowblower experts think a 2 stage machine could be converted to a 3 stage blower
with a few ( expensive ) parts??????

I had a distance throwing issue with mine ….. I added hard rubber extensions to the existing metal paddles on the impeller …. they come much closer to the metal than the oem ones did...… My machine now throws about 10 ft. further...… I think you have plenty of HP at 10...…. good luck …..mike :ohyea: ……… My concern with the Three Stage machines is heavy wet snow … the more contact with moving parts the higher the strain on the machine ….. I think it will bog down easier …..

Yep, on Youtube check out the video titled

TEST snow blower Impeller Modification with and without

by sixtyfiveford and there are many many others that make their two stage throw much further, there's even folks selling the rubber paddles on EBay pretty cheap if you don't have your own material available.

Easy. Give the two stage to Goodwill and go to Lowe's and buy a 3 stage! :roflblack: How much easier do you want it to be??? :ohyea:

After the installation of rubber pads on the impeller, line the chute with plastic. Helps to keep it from clogging up.

Well thanks guys. I did the impeller mod on both of my blowersyears ago and did it on a neighbors machine also. It does work. This year I exploded the auger gear box and broke both drive belts. Ingested a frozen /unopened pine cone. The parts are on order.

Hot rod snow blowers, now this is a thread that really needs more pictures! :nopic:

It doesn't look any different than the original 5 HP other than the 10 HP the motor. It's a sleeper so to speak.
I had a Honda CB 900F----- with 750 F side covers. A sleeper so to speak.
My second 66 Mustang was just a plain jane white Mustang with a modified 289 HiPo motor. A sleeper so to speak.
Even the :spyder2: with the ECU upgrade and stock pipes------- A sleeper so to speak.

Don't forget to blend your own oil and set the tire pressure to 18. I run mine at 15 on the left cause my driveway is circular so it handles better at hot rod speeds.:2thumbs::roflblack:
