• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

snow on the way

We have a pool going here in the office:
The Missus says 10"
I'm saying 16"
My Uncle Jack is sticking with 22"

The rules
We'll have two separate measurements taken:
One his house
One at our office
the measurement must be taken in a place that isn't to be significantly affected by the wind.
The time of the storm's snowfall is to only include snow accumulation from between midnight tonight, and 8:00am on Wednesday morning.
An average of the snowfall from the two measurements will be computed, and the one of us that it closest will win the pool of money

In this case: it's only 75 cents! :roflblack:

Let's hope your uncle Jack is wrong.

Let us know how the new snow thrower works Bob. Some pictures would be nice.:bowdown::bowdown:

I am going to sit back for now, watch the sun, enjoy the drips coming off the roof, and watching the snow go down by about an inch a day. Maybe, we will get lucky and be done with it. :dontknow::dontknow:

For any one who is getting the Nor-Ester Tuesday thru Wed.( in the North East or other states ) be SAFE and post on this thread when you can, so other people now that you are ok.

Again BE SAFE!

I hope this is the last snow storm for the season. Deanna

Bob, just to goad you a little more! It was 64 here today, sun shining, and snow is almost gone from the 8' high snow piles we had. And we're more north than you! :roflblack: I'll need to bring out the mower in a couple of weeks! :gaah:

4" so far. Light to moderate snowfall as of now.

Bob, I think my prediction that your going to win, might be slightly off.

At 8:30 this morning, we had 8" of snow on the ground, and the snowfall rate was at almost two inches per hour... :gaah:
Shovel.gifSnowBlower.gif

So we're busy clearing this white crap away from the house and Office

10:30 am report: Eleven inches of snow down, and we're starting to get a pretty strong wind from the South...

But that new snowblower sure knows how to move this stuff! There's a bit of a learning curve with it due to all of the new features, but the Missus is happy!

(Pictures to follow...)

12:00, and the :cus: is starting to get serious! nojoke
We're at seventeen inches on the ground, and we're getting some sleet mixed in, just ot make the conditions even more fun!
Oh!

These pictures were taken while it was only running at half-throttle, and she was chopping her way through about 10" of snow...

Nice machine. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
But doesn't the hood take away the joys of blowback :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

The first time that she ever ran one of these machines: the importance of that cab was made entirely clear to her...the HARD way!! :roflblack:

A bit West of us: we've had reports of the snow already being over 26" deep...

 I have plowed twice since 8am and am having trouble keeping up with it!! My ATV will push alot of snow, but I still need to try and keep up so I can push it back far enough. Feels like the end of the world is here. No spyder rides in the near future, thats for sure. Hopefully Cuomo will close the roads so I dont have to work tonight. Hate to use a vacation day for this.
What kind of ATV and plow combination are you using?
I had a Grizzly 660, with a five-foot plow on it: it was a LOT of work, and you really had to keep up with the weather, or you'd be in trouble!

Bob

It's better for them to run at full RPM. Less likely to plug and easier on the engine.
