• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Snakes on a Spyder

OIC. Are they really hunting them? I can see as where an invasive species like that could really wreak (sp?) havoc on an ecosystem. If so, how do they go about hunting them. Are they trolling with airboats and rodent-like lures?? Are they shooting them like frogs? This is starting to sound like a lot of fun!!:ohyea:

Yea...it'd be great fun until one of those pythons got ahold of you...wrapped themselves around you and squeezed until all your bones are crushed and then swallow you down the hatch...But then again...Doc and Forest would put up one hell of a fight...would make for a fantastic video... Wonder if they're gonna paint little pythons on thier Spyders like the Ace pilots do after making enemy kills....:ohyea:

Not hunting today..
Tomorrow, is planned for early morning start, like me leaving at 2 am, meeting Doc at 5 am and arriving a the hunt site 7:30 am.

It is quite possible that we need :helpsmilie: however, I must need a head shrink, but what the heck, we only come by this way once. SOOOOOOO

I'll let you know Friday....:yikes:......:roflblack:

I thought you were going for the week. I was reading that they issued 1100 permits this year and have only had 37 snakes killed. I'm looking forward to the pictures like the ones from the last hunting trip. Whose bringing the 50cal sniper rifle this time since Seth isn't coming.:roflblack:

To answer your question, they hunt them with a hail of large caliber semi automatic fire.

This is what they brought when they visited my cabin in the NC mountains...

Using a firearm. A second way is to shoot the snake in the head with a firearm, being sure to use a safe but effective caliber and making sure that you destroy the snake’s brain. The bullet must be placed in the same area as the captive bolt. To target the correct area, draw an imaginary line from the rear left of the head to the right eye, and then draw another line from the rear right of the head to the left eye. The intersection of these lines is your target.
