• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SMH10 Issue

It doesn't matter if its the SM10's fault or not, this system has intercom static, from time to time. Why pay for it and need to turn it off, to use the intercom system. I find that it you both turn off.on the helmets, that solves it for awhile.

Obviously Sena can't fix it or don't care to fix it. The SM10 hasn't has a firmware upgrade in years. Bottom line is look for a different brand next time.

FjrWillie, Without the SM10, I don't know how you and your rider can listen to the same music source, or both be connected to the same phone. Mine certainly won't do it.

You are correct. They won't be able to listen to music with it off. And that's my point (which agrees with yours) it's a defective system. And Kent will discover that by turning off the SM10 and it clears up the intercom probem.

It's a shame. The Sena SM10 system will not do what it is advertised to do. There are a lot of us who have defective systems that cost hundreds of dollars (see my earlier posts in this thread). And as I understand it, Sena is manufacturing the units now for BRP and they have the CanAm name on them. :-(

Well that makes a complete circle. As long as people keep buying it, why make any changes. Seems today's business model, like one of our candidates, deny, deny, deny. The old adage "You can fool some of the people all of the time" comes to mind. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

We are heading to St. George next weekend and I will try not turning on the SM 10 to see if that is truly what is causing our problem. I most likely won't report back until we return home. Thanks a million for all the suggestions and help. Have a great weekend and all be safe.

Hope you have a great trip. I'll look forward to hearing what happens with your headsets...but I think I already know :-)

This is for the SENA 10 Headset.

I am doing this off the top of my head (and I am not wearing my helmet). This is with the base Sm10's assuming you have made the connection to the other sm10 and you have connected your Bluetooth MP3 player (in my case it is my phone)

Once you are connected with your rider Push button once to make interconn connection with rider. You should be in talking mode. Now hold button until you will hear 2 beeps and you and your rider are now connected to the same phone for music. if you want to speak with rider hit button and it will cut the music out. To get music hit large button again.

It is in the Sena Manual See page 10

Willie,

I think you are talking about the Sena 10S headset, not the SM10 Bluetooth dongle. To avoid confusion, you may want to edit your message above. It's hard to keep them all straight with the nomenclature that Sena uses.

Also, the information you are referring to is in sections 7.1 & 7.3 on pages 24-25 of the 10S manual.

Sorry, I totally forgot about this, but not turning on my SM10 made all the difference in the world. No interference at all. Guess we will have to put up with this nuisance! Although it does piss me off they don't play nice together.

I would recommend starting here:

From Motorcycle Dave the SL vendor.

You never called me
And English is my first language. You have been calling the wrong
phone number if you want s tech person in the USA
call the phone number on the SENA website
www. senabluetooth.com that has a 925 area code

From oldguyinCT:

The number is 925-255-8936. This is in the U.S. And English is their first language.

We have had our SMH10's for a little over 2 years and every now and then when we are using the intercom function, we encounter interference between the headsets. The only way to clear the interference is to toggle one to music for a minute or two then back. The problem seems to become more frequent lately. I have updated to the latest software and the problem still happens. Does any one have an idea what/why this happens? Also it doesnt matter if we are riding in a rural setting vers a big city.
