• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SIXTEEN INCHES OF SNOW

I can't stand it. I'm going stir crazy. Tired of pulling the snowblower out, tired of shoveling. The icing on the cake was last night when a 2" hole blew out in the bottom of one of the two pressure tanks for my well:banghead::banghead: Thank goodness they are isolated from the rest of the crawl space by a 4" tall dam with a drain, so no water damage. Since they were both installed at the same time in 1996, I had them both replaced, and $3K later, I have water again. Bye Bye Winter Farkles.
After last weeks storm, on Wednesday a tree came down on the power lines, pulled the utility pole in front of my house down, ripped the electrical, phone and cable wires off of my house. :yikes::yikes: Wires all over my front yard and the road. The tree and the pole blocked our private road, so no one could get in or out. The electric company arrived at 3:30 pm, one hour after I called them. Cut up the tree & the pole, ran new wires out to the public road where the transformer is, then new wires to the house. They did not leave until 2:30 am Thursday. The phone company showed up at 3:00 am, rigged their lines to the new pole, and then came back again at 9:00 am to run a new line to the house. Cable company came at 1:30 pm & ran a new line to the house. Did I mention that it was 6 degrees as these guys were working through the night? Well, at least we had heat & water, thanks to the generator.

I gotta get a new life, this one bites. :gaah::gaah:

Man that bites.

Makes me appreciate the southern climate all that much more.

Good luck up there; hopefully you've seen the worst of it and things will start to improve.

One mans hell is another mans paradise.

We got 18" yesterday and loving every inch of it.

I do have to admit that the older I get I am becoming increasingly sick of the extreme cold.
In another thread I stated that the lack of snow has got me thinking of trading in the sleds and trailer for an F-3. :dontknow:

One more group hug on your way.:yes:

Mother Nature has been throwing some nasty stuff at us these days. When one thing piles onto another...:yikes:

Liking my first winter in Las Vegas, not missing Pa all that much. 69 degrees and sunny today. I'm feeling for those in the north and east.

Cable company came at 1:30 pm [next day right?] & ran a new line to the house. Did I mention that it was 6 degrees as these guys were working through the night?
The cable guys were there that soon???? THAT has got to be a candidate for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records!!!:clap:

More snow forecast for the weekend.

*sigh* Wonder if my company would let me work from Florida? Or Arizona? Or New Mexico? We don't have any offices in those places. Shouldn't be a problem, right? :roflblack:

Dwayne, your tale of woe makes ME want to head for warmer climes let alone how you feel. I guess Texas is looking better and better these days, huh. But, just think. The worst of winter is behind us now and spring is just around the corner. :doorag:

Bummer..!!

your hard hit for sure...sorry to hear of the winter lashing your getting. Good to hear you are getting thing patched up and your not left in the cold..thats it can't comment on whats happening here..I'm a slow runner...:roflblack::roflblack: do hope things get better soon....

Sorry for your troubles.
I will say that snowmobiling makes the winter fly. That said it has been a cold one ! I also wish we ended this southerly storm thing we've been seeing and the storms returned to the north country.

It's 60F and rain here today, tomorrow, next week - might see some sun in 10 days or so... still would't trade it for anywhere else. It's green all of the time, lots of trees, and very few bugs - I can go out for a summer evening run, and usually put the Spyder away with a clean windshield. We rarely have weather extremes in either direction - I can easily count the number of days above 90F or below 32F over the last 5 years. While it's not like San Diego, where you can plan a picnic 5 years in advance, you can generally ride all year long.
