There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. The world's best-selling motorcycle brand
If you said Yamaha, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, or Suzuki, you deserve a pat on the back, as you accurately identified numbers two through five in terms of annual motorcycle sales in 2013. These companies' sales ranged from just over 2 million total units last year to up to 6 million.
However, if you said Honda (NYSE:HMC) then you should have real bragging rights as you correctly guessed the world's top-selling motorcycle brand.

There are actually more Harley's world wide than there are total of all other brands. I did not say SALES today but EXISTING motorcycles. reread the post. Harley began manufacture in 1903. BMW in approximately 1926. All the rice burners began manufacturing in the mid to late 50's. Harley's played a large part in WWI, WWII, Korean Wars. Harley's were being mass produced 50+ years before the Japanese M/C production. Still the most coveted M/C world wide, old or new. My 1999 Ultra Classic was shipped to Russia and Camille's Dyna Low Rider was shipped to Germany. Not sure where the Dyna Wide Glide wound up but sold some where in Europe. Bruce Redding used to ship containers of 30 bikes (Harleys) each to Europe for resale and would double his money.

I have owned many, many motorcycles and usually kept around 15-20 bikes but too much work to keep them all running.
I used to be very active in collecting and restoring and bought and sold in all the major Antique Motorcycle auctions. I loved them all regardless of brands and truly enjoyed restoring and searching for parts all over the world. I sold most of the collectors to other collectors and some were bought for museums.

If you love motorcycles like I do the brand makes very little difference. JSYK Enjoy and be proud of what you've got. There is something to be said for "The Zen art of Motorcycle Maintenance" It is good food for the soul! ;)

Ride to my VA appointments as often as I can. Normally a two hour ride one way. They have motorcycle parking in the front lot but it's usually full. I head for the parking garage where they have additional bike parking. It's never full. It's actually an oversized sidewalk area with a ramp just wide enough for the spyder. Before I found that I would park in a side area next to a wall. Wasn't a legal parking area but security never said anything. Never had a problem with two wheel drivers. In fact, on my last trip, had a guy driving a Vulcan 1700 give me props on the F3S. Said he was seriously considering trading his Vulcan in on a RT Limited. We talked for about 30 minutes. I would not be at all surprised to see him on a 2016 RTL.

Acording to Harley Davidson figures they have manufacturedone 6,654,700 motorcycles give our take a few thousand do to some pour record keeping.
Honda just manufactured their 300,000,000 motorcycle in 2014.
Sorry not opinions or made up statistics. Just the facts.

Guy was just a jerk...plenty of them around on all kinds of motorcycles.

Before I retired I had a new branch chief assigned to my section in St Louis. I was talking to him and found he rode. I asked him what he rode and he said a Harley Fat Boy, then asked what I rode. I told him my Yamaha V-Star 1300T. He stopped smiling, said, "Oh..." and refused to talk to me about bikes after that. I later heard him say to someone that if you didn't ride a Harley you weren't really a rider.

Some people are just jerks.

According to statistics 90% of all Harley Davidson motorcycles ever made are still on the road.

The other 10% got home safely.

I'm sorry, that was bad, very bad.
I promise, I'll punish myself later.

One more comment on the value of "brand marketing"

One time I spent 4 months working as a salesman for a major Nissan dealership. The customer I remember most was approx 5'7 close to 300 lbs wearing a 4x harley t-shirt. He was looking for an inexspensive car to commute with. He liked a late model Nissan Sentra we had on the lot so we went inside to discuss price & finance options. It came down to the used Nissan Sentra would be costing him approx $200/mo in payments. He said he didn't think he could afford that--thus we went over his financials. One of his payments was $453/mo for a Harley. I asked him why he would spend that $453/mo on a harley considering his current income. He looked directly at me and said-"HEY--It's a Harley". It kinda reminded me of the phrase "Get Drunk & Be Somebody". Harleys are the most repossesed bikes--probably close to all other mfg combined. Harley dealerships will sell to just about anyone with poor credit as long as the can make the 1st payment. The length of the purchase contract is usually very close to 10 years at a very high interest rate--unbelievable huh. The repro businesses love it.

no where in the word Motorcycle is a two wheel designation like "bi" there is a "tri in tricycle so you can call it a Tricycle or a Motorcycle but not a Bicycle. JMO

Great reply. Morons are sadly everywhere and those with Harley's tend to think that if you are not in the clique then you are not cool. Time to go back to 3rd grade for the HD crowd.:doorag:
