• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sidecar / Trike Education Program S/TEP

My buddy and I just signed up for the Sidecar/Trike Education Program S/TEP here in CT. It is an all day class 7:30am to 6pm. He just bought a new sidecar to ride his wife around in. Having taken the MSF basic and advanced, it is time to learn how to handle the Spyder better (cruising pretty good with 800 miles on it so far). I will update in October.

Topdog, could you post some more info on that course for me? Do they have a website and if so could you post a link please. I live in CT and have had no luck finding a 3 wheel course anywhere close by.

Thanks

The site is in multiple locations in MA. www.ironstoneventures.com We are taking it on 10/07

They don't have a lot of info, but you can also find info on facebook by searching STEP Sidecar training.

I will PM you some more info.

I Passed

Had a blast at the training. Did about 3 1/2 hours of classroom and 4 1/2 on the range. I clipped one blue line on the range test for a 5 point deduction. The best part about the class was pushing the Spyder to some limits I had not done before. Emergency stopping, figure 8 and turns. Unlike the advanced class I took the instuctor was great and very helpful. We had two sidecars, 1 trike and my Spyder. My buddy rode his Ural and I followed him 55 miles of backroads to the class. The only thing better than watching the look on someone's face as the Ural went by was seeing there face with me right behind him.

Well worth the $200 as now I have more parking lot things to try with my wife on the back. Also heading to rack up some miles on a weekend trip.

Sounds like a great course. I hope that these become more widespread as there are more and more Spyders and trikes on the road.
