• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well now i see the problem with the screws and the brass inserts . I had one that was tight going in and it spun the insert:banghead: , so I used my Dewalt impact driver to spin it out why pulling on the cover to get the brass insert out.
Just cleaned the threads and JB welded it back in place waiting for it to cure . I just did what the Lamonster video talked about and wire brushed all the thread lock off the screws , lets hope the JB Weld epoxy holds .:pray:

I fixed one on a 2016 right out the crate to my house as I was putting on more accessories for a customer. Came crossed threaded from factory. I used JB Plastic and let it sit for 24hrs and it held fine.

I stripped one on the F3-L and thought I would get a couple from the dealer at the next service....but nooooooooo.....you have to buy the whole plastic internal side piece with the inserts already installed at around $200:yikes:. JB Weld appears to have done the job well

Did the same thing, but cross-threaded it going in. Used red lock-tight to hold it in place. If it works its way out I will replace it with the 5mm spring clip. (like on the back end of the cover) The other screw will keep the critical location.

Timesert makes a tread repair kit for these brass inserts. Easy fix really. I have had to repair a number that have come through my shop. Do not have time for JB weld to set up but there is nothing wrong with that solution either.

Did the same on my 16 F3 Limited the day I bought it. I started it wrong & drove it home with a ratchet until it was too late and twisted the insert out trying to remove it. The brass insert was junk. I went to the local hardware store bought an insert (it was made to screw into wood) bought some 2 part epoxy and it was fixed. It did break loose one time but I secured it a second time it has held ever since. DO NOT INSTALL THESE PANEL SCREWS WITH A POWER TOOL OR RATCHET! I install & remove them with a socket extension & my bare hands. They do not need locktite or have to be torqued. They have not come loose for me just by hand tightening.
