• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Side car for RT?

Side Car or Dog Car

Hey all, actually I have an aluminum tube platform made that looks like it will mount to the driver and passenger peg mount. It is about 18 inches wide and does not stick out past the front wheels. I just need to fabricate the 4 sides and work out the final attachment points. I think this will work!

A side car on a 3 wheel motorcycle would turn it into a 4 wheel vehicle. Then all the automobile laws apply.

Not sure I agree with that, there are so-called trike conversions that keep the existing back wheel of a two wheeler and add two more rear wheels. That gives them 4 wheels and I've never heard them referred to as automobiles.

Sidecar

I own a motorcycle with a side car. It no longer drives like a motorcycle without a sidecar. Can't imagine how the driving dynamics would change. I for one would pass. :lecturef_smilie:

California, Pennsylvania, Texas are examples... Or at least they were in 2009 when I checked.

Voyager are probably the best known conversion manufacturer for 4 wheeled motorcycles and they have dealers in CA, PA and TX, so maybe times have changed. Their website also shows that they have sold conversions to police departments and I would doubt that the conversions were modified by the police to conform to auto standards, although I don't know for sure.
