• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sick of motorcycle electronics?

:yikes: I just read the rest of the article. 12000+ for a 230cc. Still it would be great fun showing up at the local drive-ins on it. I'm open for donations:hun::ohyea:

At least they seem to be an American Company...

Although my McAfee "anti-fungal" software went NUTZ, when I clicked on your link...

ALSO

Check out the link on the dealer for MUTT motorcycles. These are Chinese imports that are then rebuilt with non-Chinese brakes, chains etc to bring them up to a better standard. You can even have them completely personalised and painted to any style you like. See the brochure in the link below.

I love the trial bike version, £3,000 / USD 4,200 approx.

Sick of motorcycle electronics

Just the same with cars, they're no longer vehicles, they're computers on wheels.

For years I used to say "the only place for electronics in a car or bike is in the radio and that's where they should stay. Then I went and bought a Prius.

When they break down, you don't need a mechanic you need Einstein.

Alex, retired electronics engineer.

I don't mind the electronics a bit; even if they can get a bit temperamental at times. :D
I lock the cruise control onto a desired speed, and I'm no longer "creeping up the dial", as the miles pile up.
If I have to mash the brakes hard in order to avoid an idiot in a cage: the A.B.S. does a marvelous job of keeping me straight and true in my lane.
The electronic fuel injection helps my bike run better, and even get better mileage.
The V.S.S. keeps me from ending up in a gory picture on Page 1...

Do I miss the "good old days"? Yes I do! :D
Do I want to go back? HELL No!

My my very first ride was a Royal Enfield 500cc single, 1949 model. No battery, no generator, and........no helmets. I got it in 1959. Reliable as hell. Had to kick-start it.

Would love to have it now. Of course I was young and stupid.....wanted a car more.:gaah:

This was my 350 one:

You can see the right-hand gear changer complete with the 'neutal finder' lever that you kicked down on with your heel. Also my homemade seat and luggage rack:-)
