• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I get an Extended Warranty?

With all the little quirks and problems people have experienced since I've been on this forum, I was thinking about getting a 3 year extended warranty. My local dealer has it for 697.00 spread out over 8 payments no interest. I think it might be a good thing with the spyder being a new design.
What does everybody think. :chat:

:agree: My wife and I both got the BRP Best Plus 3 year warranty. It gives five years of warranty total, the standard two years plus the Best Plus three years.

Maybe compare prices with National Dealers Warranty or even your own insurance company sometimes...Warranty is a business now, check around and get some haggle leverage. If you plan on keeping it, based on all the problems Spyders are having, I would say YES!

Both the BEST and BEST Plus also include road service for the entire period plus the warranty period. Other dealer offered plans may not include this.

I bought the BRP BEST warranty (we will see if that s Hyperbole) at time of purchase to lock in price. Price is VVVVerrry negotiable...especially in the middle of Jan.
Scotty s right... takes u to five years and also covers roadside assistance for the five yrs. If u buy it with the bike u actually get roadside assist. for the first two yrs its under the BRP std. warrenty. Roadside assist has like a $50. deductable.

Would only go with BRP deal as numerous third party dealer warrenties have high mark up, and may be underwritten by somone or something that isn t here anymore (AIG) etc. much less five years from now. And yes they are transferable, a selling point for the next buyer of ur bike.

Look at the price of just one or two of the components on this machine and the $697 will look like a bargain. Many of us paid $800 - $1,000 for the three year extension. BRP BEST is honored by dealers nationwide while private policies may require you to pay and submit costs for reimbursement. Yes you can wait and sign up any time during the two year standard warranty period, but you give up roadside service until you do.

With a relatively new vehicle like this I think it is a good idea to cover yourself and get the BEST coverage. I got it.

Hummm .... brand new one of a kind first year super complicated multi computer machine with known quirks and cost a ton of $$$ to fix .... should an extended warrenty be considered????

What's 1 + 1 again????

once I decide if it's a keeper I'm gone to go for it but if it's down for weeks at a time while there waiting for parts or trying to figure it out doring prime riding season it will be a gonner but man when it's running I can't get off the thing the only good that came out of last season when it was down was I managed to put 7000 on H-D also so it wouldn't get any abandonment issues :spyder2:

iam thinking about adding it on because of all the things that i been hearing about, i called the dealer and it is not to late even that i have had it for a while??????????????????:2thumbs::f_spider:

Thanks for the input. I thought that was a pretty good price too. I'll ask about the roadside ( nobody mentioned that).:2thumbs:

Hey Ldfireworks
Saw your close to me and the dealer i'm going through is Seminole Power Sports in Sanford. Ask for Chuck. Just in case you don't get a good price from the dealer around you.
We'll have to ride together sometime since we're so close.
