SHOT MYSELF IN THE FOOT

Well, not literally. Picked up a loaner today, as my 2013 RTL is in the shop for extensive repairs (again). The loaner is a 2016 RTS SE6. My first time riding an Ace 1330. What a difference! Smoother idling, great torque, totally different feel than the 998. Way smoother shifting, both up and down, although the "Eco" mode is annoying - but that is probably my bias towards the 998 that I am used to which wants to rev like crazy and doesn't tell me when it wants me to shift gears other than watching the rpm's and listening to the engine. On the way home, on back roads, where I would normally be in second or maybe third gear at most, the 1330 had no problem being in fourth or fifth gear. I did figure out how to turn "Eco" mode off, and had a nice spirited ride on the highway for about 30 miles. It is definitely faster than the 998. Now my dilemma: How the heck do I dump my '13 RTL and join the "Ace 1330" club? My dealer warned me before I picked up the loaner that I would want to trade, and he was right. I can't afford a fresh set of payments (my '13 is paid for) but I really want to find a way to join the club. Maybe I should start a "GO FUND ME" account to bail me out of this terrible situation.

Trade up!

Find a dealer with a low mileage 14 or newer, and trade. The difference is just a few thousand, but the 1330 is light years better. I bet you can do it!

Now that I have that off my chest, I can see you have a little bit of a dilemma. Maybe time to trade if you can get the right deal.

Well, I have to take it back to the dealer on Monday as it their Demo, but in the next 2 days I am going to put in some serious miles while I have it - upstate CT & NY for leaf peeping on Saturday & Sunday. I am spoiled already, and over the next 2 days I'm sure it's only gonna get worse the more I get used to the 1330. Not that I don't like the 998 engine because it is what I am used to, but the 1330 is light years better. Sent my dealer an Email today asking if he would do a straight up trade, my 2013 RTL with all of the farkels I have done for his 2016 RTS which has no farkles at all. I'm only hearing Crickets (as in silence - no response) but I'm betting the answer from him will be something like "are you on crack?" Can't blame a guy for trying. Oh & BTW Val would do that deal in a heartbeat. Just trying to keep Momma happy.

I don,t even get a Call on my 2012 RT sm5 with 16,000 miles at $11,700 and the Dealers Now a Days Don't really want trade-ins because the Spyders are NOT Really selling in CT??? If they take it Do Not expect Much? I'll keep both of mine until I get a decent offer on the 2012 RT.nojoke
