• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shop time for no Reverse - The long wait is almost over!

Hopefully they have it inside, and if they do what a better place to have it in the winter time!! They can do the spring maintenance for you!!

I think you meant 2021, not 2020. But this is one big deal killer. BRP either needs to provide the part, or offer something that does work in the interim. Pay to Park is not a good sales pitch.

Can the switch be changed out of the module? Maybe find a replacement if it's just a bad switch.

Have you researched cheapcycle for the part? The out of pocket may or may not be worth the wait depending on how fast the snow/ice melts. I feel for you Greg, I really do.

Yes, that’s what I’d be doing, 2dogs. See if the part is available at Cheapcycle, Greg, and if yes, buy it and get the dealer to fit it at their cost so you can be riding in Spring……as long as the assembly doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and is available from Cheapcycle, of course. Then claim the assembly as yours from BRP when it arrives.

In my experience, BRP's parts supply chain has always been second rate, unlike other major motorcycle manufacturers. Assuming (always a bad idea) that the part is coming from Canada, one wonders why the long wait. Of course, BRP does source a lot of stuff from Asia, so as JayBros said, could be on a slow boat from China.

Greg - if you find the part number, maybe call a Canadian dealer. Not sure if parts are routed through Canada, before being shipped to the US?

You are in Spokane. Dealer in Lethbridge, AB and a new one in Cranbrook, BC

I was thinking the same thing. Another reason I left it with them in the first place. At the time I figured when the part comes in the bike will already be where it needs to be.

That's pretty much what the Tech told me way back. He said mechanical stuff was pretty much available, but electronics are coming out of Asia. :dontknow:

Yea, I'm about 60 miles from Spokane. That might be worth a look, I'd drive up to Cranbrook myself. :)

Ya a loner for compensation sounds reasonable, especially with under warranty. Do keep records & reminders so they don’t forget you. (& how uncommonly patient you are being )

Patient? Not really. It's easy to be patient when you don't have a choice. :roflblack:

sorry your having that problem, hope you get the part soon, alot of people don;t like the spyder with a clutch, but hearing your story mades me glad, i have a sm6

If I'm not mistaken, BURP's dealer network is all connected so if one dealer has a part another dealer needs, they can ship that part to the dealer that needs it. Some time ago I lost a key and need it replaced. My dealer had only one blank but another dealer had several blanks. That other dealer sent my dealer the key blank I wanted. By the way. They were quite internet price compatible. Only $4 more dollars than online. Surprise surprise.

It's undoubtedly the chip shortage. I read the other day where Canon is getting all kinds of backlash because brand new ink cartridges are being reported by the printer as "incompatible brand". Turns out they are sending out cartridges without the chip in them needed to correctly communicate with the printer.
