• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

'19 F3S won't manually down shift or select reverse - heat related maybe? Ideas?

Lately my 2019 F3S will not down shift manually or go into reverse sometimes. I'll ride later and it works perfectly. I took it to my dealer and of course they could not duplicate the issue. So I drove it home and it was fine, then yesterday it would not manually down shift again and I couldn't get it in reverse. So I took it to the dealer again today and of course it worked fine. I seem to notice this issue after I have been driving it awhile. Could it be a heat related problem? Any ideas would be welcome, thanks.

Thanks for your reply. The dealer originally said it could be one of several things. The problem is duplicating it at dealer. I could tell them the switch is failing but they won't take my word for it. Will a failing switch show up on their computer diagnosis?

Your LHS (left-hand switch) is failing. Search is your friend.

Plus 1...my 2020RT acted just like that....finally wouldn't shift at all...replaced it, problem fixed. The LH multi switch assembly is $500+ for the part. It's doable to DIY, but tedious.

F3S with No Reverse/Downshift - '22 with less than 2K mileage and 14 months of warranty left. Left Florida home for a month in Maggie Valley, NC. Soon as I unloaded the toy hauler it started the reverse issue. I can pull the lever back while the wife presses the reverse button and down shifter paddle. It will go in reverse then.

Now it has also sometimes not downshifted. I see nothing damaged or wrong with the reverse solenoid, cable or lever. Hoping to make the month and get use out of the bike. Dealer is in Florida so until August, that is not an option.

Any ideas?

If you know for sure that nothing on the undercarriage is bent from loading and unloading from your toy hauler, I'd be ordering and installing a new left hand cluster. If there is not a TSB you'll get no where with the dealer unless they can replicate it while they have it. Bite the bullet and replace the part yourself. Just my opinion.

Dealer will not have problem replicating. Rode the “Dragon” today. Tried reverse multiple times and all were failures.

Appreciate the damage idea. I see nothing and have a picture of it not really hanging down. Often get problems here posting as I just cannot figure out protocol.

Thanks for the idea of buying another control. Might come to that.
