• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

She's home!!!

Got the Spyder out this morning after a pre-ride check. Tire pressure was not to what's recommended here. Fired up the compressor and pumped 'em up. Had a bit of a snafu thinking my headlights were out. Checked the relays. A OK. Come to find out the lights come on when you start the engine. Duh!!!

Went directly to a parking lot. Set up my cones (cut in half tennis balls) per the owner's manual. Practiced for about an hour. All I can say is that idle RPM's is higher than I'm used to. I know this is normal. First exercise with no throttle and clutch only was an education!! Soon I was weaving all over the place. Practiced emergency stops from 2nd gear. Swerves. My brakes got to squealing pretty good during practice. They shut up once I was out on the road ryding.

Rode a short loop that I knew from my early motorcycle days. No Problems whatsoever!!!! On the motorcycle I would often feel my heart in my throat I was worried about so much. Not the Spyder!!! It was pure JOY and Lovin' it every minute!!!:2thumbs:

Came back home to have lunch. Going to go out again and ryde to my dealer (1 hour each way) to have it inspected. Called them this morning to order a few BRP goodies. I'll have all installed including the CHAD when they come in. Yeah, going to drive up there twice in short time. What a tragedy, huh???:D

Had it up to 60 so far. Vibration is my main issue. Think anti-vibe bar ends are in order.

I am absolutetly absolutely ecstatic I found the Spyder to ryde!!!! This thing is GRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!!!!!

it begins . . . . .

Marilyn, congratulations!
If you are like me, you will become totally addicted to putting miles on the Spyder. "Well, gotta go . . . ." has become the first thing I say after "Hi".

Well, gotta go . . . .

Tom

Tom, you're right!!! I'm back home, showered and all cleaned up. Used muscles I haven't used in ages so I know I'm going to be sore tomorrow. But I can't wait for it to BE tomorrow!!! I want to get out and work on refining the smoothness of my shifting. Smoothing out my throttle inputs. Find some open road and LET HER RIP!!!!!!!

Even had my first gas station experience where someone said it looked like a snowmobile. I'm cool. That's OK. BRP makes snowmobiles.

This is so much fun it I can't believe it!!!!!

Went out to western MA to pick up my Spyder this morning. I'm glad I decided to trailer it home. Today was hot, almost too much heat all at once. I was toast by the time I got the truck and trailer home. I can't fathom how tired I would have been riding it home when I'm not used to riding for very long at all.

Got the plates on, registration tucked away. Been reading the owner's manual. Can't wait for the sun to come up tomorrow. I'm going to hop on and go, go, go!!!

I appreciate SpyderLovers and all the info I discovered here because this forum was a major factor in my finally getting a Spyder. So, thanks Lamont and everyone else.

Happy Spydering!!
