• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena intercom problems

A few weeks ago I bought a pair of Sena SMH10 intercoms with the intention of having intercom and music sharing. I have followed the Sena written instructions, U-Tube video instructions and a customer service rep instructions, all with no success. Tried at least 50 times (no exaggeration). Tried two different phones. No luck. Tried phone pairing with both headsets to see if that made a difference. Intercom works fine, but can only get music out of one(depends on which helmet I pair with the phone.)

1. Turn on headsets (OK)
2. Pair one headset with phone (OK)
3. Pair headsets (OK)
4. Turn on music (OK)
5. Push Jog Dial 1 sec to get out of intercom and into standby (OK)
6. Music should be heard out of both headsets (never happens, only one headset)

As I said, I have followed the U-Tube video EXACTLY while the video was playing. Didn't work. Anyone know the secret?:banghead::gaah:

I have found that the SENA SMH10 headsets are suboptimal.
I had lots of dropouts, and failure to connect the intercom when I needed it. And the advanced features didn't work as advertised.
I'm not surprised you're having problems.
The 20S is a far superior unit.
Sell the SMH10, or repurpose it to some use less demanding.
I mounted my old SMH10 to my ski helmetCapture25.jpg

There is a step after #5

Once in standby press and hold the Jog Dial until you hear two beeps and you should hear the music from both headsets.

You may have to turn on the music sharing while the headset is connected to sena through the computer. It came on an update years ago on the SMH-10 and I had to go on the sena update site to turn it off because my wife likes different music than I do. We paired our phones to our own headsets.

we have some SMH10s along with the dongle and found them to work pretty well. But they are no longer supported by Sena...we now have the 10C for me and the wife still uses the smh10 and they pair and sound good to her. but you can't adjust the settings with phone app that I could see. Intend to keep using them as long as the batteries still take a charge.

Hope you get it resolved. I haven't had any issues with the SMH10 as referred to in one of the posts. It has worked flawlessly on tours with friends. The battery life has been great... even 4 years in. I have not tried to stream music, however, to another helmet.

I believe it does. I’m trying to remember but I think one is the master.

That sounds right. On the 20S one would play music then they held the job dial until music sharing came on. I think that the suggestion of updating your unit by hooking up to your computer is a good idea too, we used music sharing years ago but when I recently tried to use it , it didn’t work. One of our units is newer than the other and hasn’t been updated lately so maybe that’s why it didn’t work.

Good luck.

I have firmware 5.1.2 which is supposed to be the latest.

Mine was the headset paired to the music source and I have to use my jog dial to get the music to my wife. I hate to see you having this issue and I hope you can get it resolved.

EUREKA!! Victory. Got both headsets with music sharing. All it took was to read the instructions a little more closely and follow them. Thanks to everyone who tried to help. My bad.:ohyea::2thumbs::yes::cheers:
