• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Security System Ignition Wire to Cut

Need some help, Security System Ignition Wire to Cut

So I've got my Scorpion I900 security system installed and have just one part left and need some help. The ignition disable option requires me to cut one of the following wires and put the ignition kill between the cut wire:

1. Positive lead wire on fuel pump.
2. Positive lead wire on fuel injection system.
3. Positive wire that goes to the ignition fuse in fuse box.
4. Ground wire from ignition module.
5. Positive wire from ignition module to ignition coil.

Which option would be the easiest one for me to find and cut into on the :spyder2: and where is it located?

This will enable me to disable the :spyder2: remotely if someone was to hold me up at gunpoint...hopefully that never happens.

Thanks in advance, Skeeter

I prefer the fuel pump. If you use crimp-on connectors, make a jumper while you're at it... just in case the alarm ever goes bad.

.

Thanks ataDude.

Do you (or anyone) happen to know which of the 2 wires on the fuel pump is the positive lead? Is it just red and black wires or some other wiring scheme? Thanks for the advice

Pump is better but module is easier. All depends on how deep you want to dive into.

I prefer to "interrupt" the ground wire... that way, you don't have a potential shorting problem to worry about later. That wire is the black/pink... not 100% sure of the "pink"... but it's definitely the black with a stripe.

Good idea, I haven't installed mine yet (after 6 months) instead of a jumper, I might crimp in a fuse holder and leave out the fuse.

My talon alarm tied into the Ignition. Whichever you decide to tap into - always check the wires to insure which is the ground. Many of us have found the Spyder wire colors to be reversed in various places.

Simple volt meter will let you check polarity, or just do a ground continuity test.
