• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Second update, 12000 mile service

I had my Spyder in for the DPS recall and 12000 mile service and updates about a month and a half ago. They also replaced my exhaust gaskets, and plugs.Looking at the plugs they replaced I was running a little rich and I figured this was due to my juicebox settings and the fact that it was still cold outside.Well now that it is hot again I have been checking my plugs and tweaking the juicebox settings and I have bumped the cruising setting up from 7.5 to eight since it appears I am still on the lean side and am getting decel backfire.
Last summer i was running that setting at 7.5 and all was well with no backfiring. Was there anything done on the second update to lean out the fuel map?( Note: see my mods below.)My Spyder runs great but I would rather run it a little to the rich side as opposed to the lean side but for whatever reason I don't think I am going to be able to do that now and for the life of me I don't know what changed.:banghead:

Can the fuel mapping be changed thru the BUDS system?

I have heard as well as it being my own experience that if the ecm senses an overly rich condition it will overide the JB and lean it out or compensate for it. I am assuming you have the regular JB and not the pro. The only way I could fix it was to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes minimum and it would run great for a while. Then it would lean out again. I might be mistaken. All I know is the ecm is smarter than "I think"! :dontknow:

At 12K I would be concerned with your Y-gaskets, if you haven't already replaced them (preferably with the Honda gaskets). Leaking Y-gaskets could be causing your decel issue, and can also throw off the fuel mixture.

Normally, the mapping cannot be changed by BUDS, but some of the "updates" have changed the mapping.

My gaskets were replaced at the 12000 mile service, but this is also when I noticed the popping on decel, (after my service) which coincided with the warmer air temperatures.I guess my main concern is that I have the juicebox maxed out for running rich and when it is this hot I don't seem to be runnig too rich.It seems to me the Spyder's fuel mapping is not "wide" enough for the temperture changes from winter to summer. From my experience with my Spyder I can run it too rich in the winter but not close to rich in the summer.
