• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat replacement

First Spyder

Let me start by saying, I am no mechanic! I'm going to change my original worn seat with a new comfort seat. What do I need to know? Should I let my mechanic do it or venture this on my own?

:welcome: A lot of this depends on just how "comfortable" you are, with a wrench in your hand...

highwayman posted about the best video possible to help you! :clap:
You didn't mention which Spyder you have...
If it's an RT; you can make the job a bit easier by removing the passenger backrest first. (A couple of bolts from inside the top trunk)
You've got the pivot point at the rear of the seat... Remove that bolt
CAUTION!!!! Plug those gaping holes underneath the seat first! If parts fall in there (and they will... :shocked:), it will make your day last forever...
You'll also need to unclip the seat strut up front... I think that a small screwdriver worked well for me.

One thing to be sure of is that you need to plug any holes under your seat with towels or rags so that the nuts or bolts that you will drop don't get lost in the body or underbody of the Spyder.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Hey Joe your socket is still under my seat from when I dropped it. One of these days I'll pull the seat off and retrieve your 10mm socket. I'm glad we used duct tape to plug up the holes.

Pretty much anyone can change out a seat--regardless of mechanical ability. They got you covered about plugging the holes with a towel or tape. When the seat goes up, and the wrenches come out--the black hole sucking machine turns on. As long as you watch out for that--you should be good to go.
