• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Am i the only one that thinks the search section on here is something to be desired

Think it brings up everything except what your looking for :roflblack::roflblack:

Your not.....

But if you really want to find it here....google it and it will direct you to this site to what your looking for...:hun: oh yeah...go figure...:dontknow:

I tend to use Advanced Search rather than google with spyderlovers.com added to the end of the search string simply because Advanced Search works so well??

It works with delineators like putting the + symbol immediately before any word or words that MUST be found, or putting words in " marks - hey, it even lets you use both at the same time!! AND you can search entire posts, groups, forums, group messages....

Things like the well worn 'rear tire' query can be a great example - you can search for any appearance of either rear OR tire in anything just by throwing 'rear tire' into the keywords field & leaving it search 'all types' of posts; or you can search for any appearance of both the words rear & tire by putting in '+rear +tire'; the word/phrase combination 'rear tire' by using "rear tire"; or if you like you can put any/all of those in with it set to search titles only!! What more can you ask for?!? :dontknow:

And while google will use & search on all the delineators in the same way & you can restrict it to searching this site by adding 'spyderlovers.com' to the search string, I haven't yet found a way of using google to search anything but the entire site - there's no way of limiting a google search to anything but the entire site - no 'titles only' searches or any of the other search restrictions that Advanced Search offers.

I guess it's all in the way you use it! :)

nojoke Just ask...
:D Here's what will probably happen:
3 people will actually answer your question with useful information.
2 will ask why you asked such a stupid question! After all: it's been discussed millions of times...
2 will also refer you to the Search Engine. :banghead:
7 will tell you their story that doesn't really apply... but they wanted to tell it anyway!
1 will say that it's all BRP's fault...
2 others will then hijack the thread, and we're off to the races! :2thumbs:

funny

if this is like the 2nd time for this topic , how about actually telling us what you are looking for ? 50 folks looking instead of just 1

So Bob, which do you prefer....

Horses?

Dogs?

Team Sports?

other things that have a big betting business following :dontknow: .....

or would you rather watch cars, & bikes, trucks etc where so far, there's less formalised betting going on??

(I tried to search to see if there was any big betting business following for that in the States, & if anyone had asked the question here before, but didn't get any helpful response! :gaah: )

The main shortcoming with the forum search that I've encountered is searching for posts by a specific forum member. The search brings up only those posts that are in a thread that that member started. If say, Bob D starts a thread and I post in that thread, that post won't come up if I put my name in the User Name box of advanced search.

You get all this b/c they are trying to increase their post count to reach you; but, I understand that that it is futile, and there can only be one king.

:shocked::hun:
I've always said that my Post Count is irrelevant... nojoke
But since you were able to add to yours, by mentioning mine:  :firstplace:
