Finally got around to installing the floorboards today and went for a short ride. All I say is "WOW", what a difference they make, so MUCH room to move my feet around which adds to the comfort level !!!! Thanks John. Now I'll be riding in comfort......

They look nice. I am waiting to see a set in person before I place the order, just a little confused on which boards to go with.

three questions

Ornerydog7...two quick questions

1. How long did it take for delivery from the time you placed your order?
2. Did you order online or by phone?
3. How ling did the install take and can a guy with light mechanical skills handle the install?

Thanks...they look great.

I got the FedEx tracking number from John at Seal floorboards and I should take delivery of my floorboards on Tuesday. I hope to get them installed before weekend, but we shall see. I will let you know when they are on so you can see.

J.Mark, I ordered them online during the February special (free shipping). I received them a week later. The install took about 1.5 hours and believe that's because I'm a measure twice, measure again then cut type of guy. The install instructions are great and straight forward. I believe you should be able to do this install, just take your time.

Just to clarify, there is no cutting or measuring need in the installation. I have had customers do the entire project in as little as 15 min., others up to 2 hrs. From the feed back I get, 45 min. is about the average.

Thanks for all the info. They look great. But I do have another question, Did you have to take off the heat fins in the front? I could not tell from your pics. thx

No. This may help, go to Seal Floorboard site, go to products, scroll all the way down the page, click on RT SE5 install. Pretty simple install.

No, You don't have to modify your Spyder in any way to mount your Seal FloorBoards nor do you have to remove them to change the oil. Three Machine screws and nuts oer side is all it takes. I have the installation instructions at the bottom of my Products page

free freight offer on Seal Floorboards

John:

Do you know when you may be offering the free freight promotion again? I live in North Carolina.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

I don't plan to offer any freight specials till after SpyderFest, which is coming up pretty fast. It is a very expensive show for me to do,coming all the way from Or. I will be doing installations there and of course there ill be no freight charges once I'm there. BTW, I will be riding from Cuba, Mo. to Raleigh, NC and am looking for other riders heading that way....fun in numbers.

My experience. Shipping was during a free offer--so no charge. Arrived here in AK is less than a week. Installation was about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes for me. I am not mechanically inclined. Everything fit perfectly. I was impressed with how good a mechanic I am once the installation was complete. :roflblack:

Unfortunately we will not be able to be in Cuba this year. Will you be at a show in Raleigh?

John,
I too was wondering if you would offer free shipping if I ordered a set? I will not be able to go to Cuba. Just wondering?

Thanks!

No rally that I know of, just family and more excuses to ride and meet new friends. I always carry a couple of sets with me however.

Hey John,

I got my Seal Floorboards installed last night and rode to work this morning - what a great ride it was. The floorboards are very nice and comfortable! I can hardly wait to take 'em on a long ride to see how well I am able to stretch my legs out.

Although it isn't much, and it's in no way the fault of the floorboard, I'm feeling a little vibration and am wondering if I put rubber washers between the floorboard and the footpegs if this would help reduce it. Has anyone tried this, and does it work?

By the way, the chrome strip around the back edge of the left side is loose - what type of adhesive should I use to prevent it from coming all the way off? Superglue?

Thanks again!
Anita

Hi Anita,

I haven't heard much in the way about vibration. A rubber washer sure wouldn't to any harm. There are several other reasons others have found to cause vibration but I'm not sure what they are. never noticed it so haven't paid much attention. Before you try super glue or epoxy, try heating it with a hair dryer and pressing it back in place. Let it cool completely before testing it. It has a very strong 3M adhesive on it that you can probably reactivate it.

BTW, are you gong to SpyderFest? That's a good chance to take a long ride.

John
