I hope so too Derwin. For your sake and others who want the electronic shift option, it would be fantastic to see them in the spring.Derwin said:I hope that is just a CYA type of annoucement on their website. Because I received a personal email from a woman at the Spyder Team stating that I will be getting my SE5 by the end of May, if not sooner. I guess we have to wait and see what happens.

Director said:You won't see them for a while yet. This is from the SpyderRyder website, as posted by BRP:
4. All pre-orders received by BRP (for the semi-automatic sequential electronic transmission SE5) by January 29, 2008 – dealers will receive delivery in September 2008
5. All new pre-orders (for semi-automatic sequential electronic transmission SE5) after January 29, 2008 – dealers will receive delivery in November 2008 until further notice.

aubierules said:thanks Bruce..thats what I thought, but someone on this site said that his was an auto, and I was just wondering...They told me I would receive mine by the end of september......and SUPPOSEDLY Im supposed to be first on the list at Pensacola Motorsports for an se5....at least thats what he told me :![]()
Derwin said:When I first ordered my Spyder SE5, I was told June or July. Then last month I was told to expect it in September. I was ticked-off, so I contacted the Spyder Team for a more accurate time frame. That's when I received an email for them stating that I would be getting mine by the end of may. For me that would be perfect......having the entire summer to ride it! But I'm really not "banking" on the may date, just hoping!

Derwin said:As I said before, I have the Yellow SE5 on order. But now that they came out with the RED color, I think I like that a little better. So, I called my dealership in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and he said that he would be able to CHANGE my order to RED, but it may COST MORE, and there would definately be a DELAY in delivery.
My question is......Why should RED cost more than the YELLOW, since I paid extra for the yellow anyway? Also, why should there be a further delay? DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY HARD FACTS ABOUT THIS? Has anybody received any DIRECT information about a price difference for the RED model compared to the YELLOW model?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Derwin
I would get the Red if there was no extra delay. I ordered the SE5 in January and my dealer is telling me that I can expect it around June. Itold the dealer that I would take a red if it came in before the Silver - Well it looks like I will be riding a Silver one (and I am very happy with that too!)Director said:but the part about a shipping delay is probably accurate.
Cheers,
Bruce
Derwin said:Hmmmmm. Well, after considering everything, I think I am just going to stick with my original order....the Yellow. I told a friend that I was considering the Red model, and he told me not to get it. He said that when red fades, it turns a PINKISH color. That did it for me! I don't want to be riding around in a PINK Spyder! Riding around the North side of Chicago, on Halsted Avenue, I might get rear-ended........and I don't mean my Spyder! ;D
Derwin
By the way.....Is that true about Red on a bike? Just wondering.
Director said:It shouldn't happen if good quality paint is properly applied at the factory. A friend of mine had a bright red Honda VFR 750 a number of years ago, which he kept for almost ten years ... It was just as red when he traded it in as when he bought it. It was garaged and waxed frequently, so I think that helped to preserve the original paint job. ...
sabunim5 said:If Jimmy told you that you were first on the list for an SE5, you will be. When it comes is up to BRP, not him. Count on getting the first one, as Pensacola Motorsports has been straight up in dealing with customers. When BRP delivers to a particular dealership is a whole different story. You may not be the first in the country, but you will be the first at Pensacola Motorsports. Good luck on an early delivery
