• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all - I have a 2010 RS-S Spyder - It came with the SE5 - I had really wanted a SM5 but the bike sitting there was the pearl white that I really wanted so the SE5 came home with me. Well its been about 10 months and while I love the bike - I really would prefer to have a clutch and gear shift - Has anyone done this? - I did a search - found a few people requesting to change SM5 to SE5 but not the other way around. It may not be possible - but I thought I would ask.
Thanks!
Scott

SM TO SE

Well there you go, you solved your own problem !!!! go back and find one of them and switch....now everyones happy :roflblack: :gaah: :agree:    Mike:thumbup:

I was just looking at the BRP site - I don't think you can get Pearl White with the SM5 - I don't know why.

Per the website....

5-speed manual (SM5) with reverse (not available with Pearl White) OR 5-speed semi-automatic (SE5) with reverse

Too bad you are too far away. I have a 2010 RS SM5, and we could have switched transmissions. I originally wanted a SE5, but that deal fell through.

I have not looked into this but I'm very doubtful that this swap is worth the effort and expense, or even possible. I'd say shaping motors would be a better route but then I'm thinking you'd need to swap out the ECM and possibly other things as well. I think you're biting off a big headache.

It would probably be less expensive to get an SM5 and have it painted the color you want. But I'm just guessing. Some knowledgable person will certainly have a better idea.

:agree: or buy new Tupperware.

You'd have ot dig deep into probably way more systems than you'd want... :gaah:
The Limiteds aren't available with the SM5; only the other three modesl are
Now if You could find an RTS owner who wanted the SE5 the Tupperware swap might be easier... The extra goodies of your Limited could be swapped over with some patience, friends and liquid refreshments!

I kinda figured that was gonna be the answer - I think at the end of the day I will just live with the SE5 - I really dont want another bike.

I was hoping it might be easier going from SE to SM vs SM to SE - but I guess its not.

Thanks guys.

Oh, with enough time, effort and money, anything is always possible... the question becomes, "Is it worth doing?"
(Ended up on the wrong side of THAT question a couple of times...:gaah:)
