• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. SE5 Delivery

Thanks for all your input. I am in Toronto and September is a little late in the season and I was hoping for a fall run. I hope you all all correct and the SE5 shows up in September.

Thanks,

:agree: These guesses and questions are all good. I've ordered an SE5 as well. But hopefully somebody at Valcourt today or tomorrow will ask these questions. Like when is the first real production models rolling out? Will there be a seperate production line to keep up with demand? There are supposed to be SE5's to test drive at this homecoming, hope somebody asks questions. (AND TAKES PICTURES !!!)

As the optimist, I believe tht BRP will take this homecoming gathering as an opportunity to announce at this event that the SE5 will start coming off their production line as soon as next week! It's been a year since they started touting this thing, and everyone is getting antsy.

i spoke with my dealer last week .she said that the first production se5 have been produced and shipped to the traveling demo tour .she thinks they are going to try these there for a while to make sure there are no problems before the mass produce.i did test drive an se5 in san antonio tx .very nice .my wife really liked it enough to let me get one.from my understanding this was a prototype model

hopefully soon

When I was at my dealer last week they said that a batch was delivered last month to the first couple of people who ordered them. They also stated that they don't go into mass production untill Sept 1. Hopefully someone from the group that went to the homecoming can let us know a more updated delivery estimate on the SE5 because this wait is killing me :-(

Thanks,
Bossman - I am in Brampton, ordered my Spyder December. Last heard that the delivery should be in August, I am crossing my fingers. Where abouts in Toronto are you?

I am in Los Angeles. My dealer told me end of June/July. I e-mailed the factory and they responded: End of Nov/December. Nothing we can do, just sit tight and wait. I guess if they have to make sure that everything is functioning well before the delivery it's ok with me. Better than take early delivery and be in the shop all the time :(

Ordered mine 6-7-08, dealer said that they would be getting their demo SE5 sometime in August. He said good chance mine would follow a few week after.
If not I'll ride a trike backwards! call it the Back-door Spyder

At work we have an emoticon of a happy face beating a dead horse with a stick. That is kinda how
I feel about this topic any more. I have gone through many phases of Spyder waiting. I have been
frantic, I have been mad, I have been tired and I have been reinvigorated. I have ordered and received
multiple modifications from every vendor that Lamonster has listed for this site. I have enjoyed my contacts
with all of these folks. But I have finally fallen into the relax and let it happen mode. We can't make them build
SE5s any faster than they want to. I would assume this would be for quality purposes. My wife is still
as enthusiastic as I am so it ain't a problem that they are taking their time delivering the initial customer
ordered Spyders. I STILL REALLY WISH THEY WOULD HURRY THE :edit: UP! But really, we all have dates
that our dealers quoted us. And you know what? I think BRP will meet those dates. Maybe not as early as we
would want them to, but this company has been around a while and they have satisfied customers for
all the other products they produce. I don't see them changing up just for those of us who want our SE5s
last month. There are some folks on all the Spyder sites who like to quote the BRP November line. I think
if your dealer told you September, you will probably receive your Spyder some time in September. I just last
week took the hour drive from work to my dealer just to pick up a couple scarfs and a DVD and a couple
stickers. They have a silver demo on the floor now to go with their yellow one. I couldn't find the yellow one
they had for sale from a guy who just couldn't afford his after he ordered it. I really think that is the one
cruising around my neighborhood. My dealer just couldn't confirm it. Privacy issues.
So relax SE5 guys, we will see our Spyders soon enough. And I can guaranty I am gonna enjoy mine. I
can't get the demo ride out of my mind ;D

Because of where I live, I can't ride in the winter. (snow) Has anyone besides me thought about postponing buying an SE5 untill next Spring? I hate to lose 6 months of warranty and also paying 6 months worth of insurance. Plus by then they may have more of the "kinks" worked out of the Spyder. I placed my deposit in January in hopes of being able to ride this summer. But since it looks like that won't happen, I'm considering waiting till next year. Anyone else?

Question: If my Spyder comes in this Fall can I wait to pick it up till next Spring so the BRP warranty period would start next Spring? (assuming I pay for it in full and my dealer agrees to the "lay-a-way")

We pondered this a while. The warranty period really doesn't matter. If you have a two year warranty, and pick it up in the beginning of winter, you will lose several months of riding time under the warranty right away. If you pick it up in the Spring, you will lose the riding time under warranty at the very end of your two years, and the warranty will expire just as the riding season starts. Either way, a two year warranty involves exactly the same amount of riding, just different idle times. I wouldn't back out and start all over again for anything. Keep your place in line.

I placed my order for the SE5 back in December, and I was just recently considering doing the same thing that your thinking about. Then I was contacted by a person with BRP. They assured me that I will be getting my SE5 in August, and that everybody else will also be getting theirs by the promised date. If you ordered yours in January, than I would bet you will be seeing a mid August delivery as well. Heck, that's less than 60 days away! I'm getting pretty excited! :hot:

Derwin,
I hope you get yours immdeiatley since I'm behind you in the line. Also enjoy your attitude and enthusiasm. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience when you get the SE5. Hopefully, it'll reinforce my decision to wait for the SE.

Paul

if you do get your se5 in the fall you need to trailer it down to tx.ride in the hill country it is awesome .then ride to the beach in corpus christi. we should get a fall ride together in tx.
