Scorpio SR-i900 Problem

I have the SR-i900 alarm installed on my RT and have not had any problems until recently when the alarm is barely audible. Does anyone know how to adjust the volume or is it even possible. The installer instructions and Owners Manual does not have anything about the alarm volume except for on and off, or maybe there is a way to connect an external horn? I'll also contact Scorpio but since it is over 2 years old they will most likely push for a new unit.

The odds are that it is the alarm "speaker" failing. There usually isn't any adjustment in an alarm system as you would want it full. If it got wet or something is blocking the front of it. See if you can replace it. Or hook up the ext horn/speaker.

As odd as this may sound, it could be your battery failing. Mine finally started to go and the first thing I noticed was my alarm reminder chip was pathetically weak after shutting the bike off. It still started and ran ok. I left the key on for a bit accidentally, but not long enough to kill a good battery and mine wouldn't start until I jumped it.

It was pushing 4 years old so I knew it was about time anyway... After putting the new battery in, the chirps were back to nice and loud.

Yep the alarm loudspeaker is going out or has filled up with dirt. Unfortunately on the i900 the loud speaker is part of the alarm unit and cannot be easily replaced.

Not the Battery, I have a battery tender on it and a second Battery for all my LED's and even with jumper cables and a juice box no difference. Did hear back from Scorpio and they had me go through a reset but even that did not make any difference. The alarm is plenty loud in the garage but out in a parking lot it is barely audible and just being ignored. The alarm is a two stage chip / siren so I will be hooking up a relay to the grey wire (for flashing lights) and either tie in with the horn or add a solid state voice message or maybe both.:yes::yes:

Used some canned air finless, but made no difference of course it could also be my hearing going bad. Wife says I don't ever listen anymore :lecturef_smilie: (I call it selective hearing)

To follow up on this, I found a short between one of my LED's and turn signal wires. Since I seldom used that Ground Halo LED and all lights still worked it was somewhat cumbersome to troubleshoot(Smelled rubbery Smoke), however it's fixed and alarm siren is back to normal. Still looking to tie in a 130 db horn someday.
