• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scheduled the 3000 mile service on my 2024 RTL

Friday morning at the dealer where I purchased it. Quoted a cost of $280-$320 which seems a bit high to me for what is essentially an oil change. I'm taking it to the dealer for the first service primarily because I have at least $125 credit on the books there (maybe $150), so I need to use it. Also want to have it looked over as well. In the future I will likely be doing my own oil changes. Getting it ready for Maggie Valley in October unless plans change.

The rate quoted for an oil change service is actually a bit on the LOW side.

Your ability to do your own servicing will save you a lot of cash in the long run.

Enjoy our new Spyder. :firstplace:

Depending on the area. Most shops charge $150 an hr and some go by BRP Shop Time even if it takes half that time. Also, the first service should be more than just an oil change, including checking the belt position/tension; tire out of round; going over the whole Spyder; and covering any warranty issues, so the price is on par. Just depends on how good the tech is. Sometimes, they may give a discount too, since you purchased from them as well.

It's a good price. Heck, the retail price of the XPS oil change kit alone, for the 1330, is 147 bucks for the full synthetic formula. And you might want to remind them of the full synthetic formula and ask them to use that, instead of the synthetic blend. It’s relatively new. The credit that you have on file covers the cost. If they give you a blank stare, tell them that the part number is 9779484. Everything that they are supposed to check is right there in the maintenance section of your owners manual. AND, if you happen to have any glitchy-ness with the latches when opening your side bags, have them give those cables some adjustment. Make a squawk list.

I guess you got a handbook with the Spyder.
It should show what is involved in the 3,000 mile check.
Can you possibly post up what is recommended maybe.
I'm picking its more than an oil and filter change.

The problem you have is if you dont get it done by the Dealer you may risk your Guarantee.

This is great information for everyone. Seems like some of us are without a 'good' Spyder Dealer. Hopefully you have a 'great' Spyder Dealer.

Enjoy your Ryde Times and Stay Safe. ....

So, got the 3000-mile service done this morning. Specified full synthetic oil so the final cost was $379.22. I had a $32 credit from Can-Am left from the initial $500 credit for the Apple Play fiasco, and $125 credit from the dealer for the "poker run" when I bought the thing. Each department that you go to (service, parts, finance, etc) you draw a card from a deck, and I ended up with a full house. That got me a $125 credit. Final cost of the service after using my credits was $222.22. Not bad. Took a little over an hour and a half and I spent that time chatting with several of the folks that worked there, browsing the bikes on the floor, and reading. Not a bad morning.
