• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scammers

I have followed this one on Craigslist for quite awhile.
Listed in 10 different states and cities currently available in.
At one time it even said it was made by Harley Davidson.
They used to have several pics on each one and you could see it was all the same Spyder with the same pics. When you email them they will tell you it is in a different state and city each time, from coast to coast.

:D You could have some fun with them:
When they tell you it's "someplace else"; say, "That's FANTASTC"" My Brother lives there. Give me your Street address, and he can be there in two hours with the cash."

I hate to sound dense, but what is he hoping? For somebody to send cash? Seems like they would pick something easier to sell than a Spyder.

I also ----> hate those dang scammers ( what is the end results ? I mean they go too the trouble of posting and all the work what is their payoff ? are they just after the i.d. and e-mail of the interested party , too just keep the scam going but with another i.d. ? ) I had been hooked by a 1996 ford extra cab / white over tan , 96,ooo miles ( they always come back with --- I am selling for my mom , or friend , here is the e-mail address ---- they reply that it is being handled and stored at amazon or e-bay ? :banghead: )

Me too .I don't get what they get out of it? I also seen this ad in several states..When I was looking for a motorhome 10 yrs ago there also was an ad on CL for cheap,I knew it was a scam but wtf what a waste of time does anybody ever fall for this crap?

I have ran across an ad like this and inquired once before. I was told that someone else had called on it and they would like some funds down to hold it until I could look at it. One ad said it was in Kentucky, when I email I was told it was overseas and it had to be shipped back. If I really wanted it, it would cost me $300.00 deposit to get it shipped, then once it was here if I didn't find it to be what he said it was, he would fully refund the deposit.

If someone believes the ad and is willing to pay a $100.00 + deposit, it is free money to them. You have no way of contacting them again when you find it is not true, the contact is through a craigslist email link, no phone number, and even if there is one it could be a burn phone, or they can block your number.

So if they get even 2 or 3 people to fall for it, 200 or 300 for a fake add that took just a few minutes to make, not bad.
Also if you report it to craigslist it just removes the add you report, others are still there, and even if they are all shut down, a few minutes later and they have new ones.

They post those ads so you will reply. Then they have your email address and bombard you with spam. And if you reply with your phone number, then they robo-call you constantly.

I was on the phone with this guy he had already transferred the money for a 15 year old mustang $2500.00 wanted me to pickup the car but no answer. I told him the car did not exist and he had been scammed. He refused to believe me and said I will call them myself. He never called me back. Ok go figure?????????
