Response from Tech Support:
Thank you for contacting the Cardo Systems Support Center.
If using the Boom microphone, please make sure that you are speaking into the side of the microphone with the yellow indicator arrow showing. Make sure that the microphone is positioned directly in front of your mouth; not off to the side, above, or below. You will need to speak directly into this side of the microphone, having the microphone as close to your mouth as possible.
To initate VOX, the system is trying to recognize your voice from background noise. This usually requires a ‘trigger’ sound, more so than just speaking into the microphone. The headset will respond differently to every user’s unique voice, therefore the ‘trigger’ sound may be different for everyone. A quick ‘WEW!’ sound; or elongating a word such as ‘helllooo!’, varying the pitch and tone, usually works best for most*.
Once your voice is recognized, the headset will ‘beep’. From there, the headset is waiting for a specific command from you. A command will need to be given immediately after the ‘beep’ is heard.
The commands that the G9 uses are as follows:
“Call Intercom” – used to connect the intercom between a paired and connected headset.
“Radio On/Off” – used to turn the built in FM Radio on/off.
“Music On/Off” – used to turn on music from a paired mobile phone or MP3 player.
(Note: if the command given is not recognized by the G9, the device will turn the FM Radio on by default.)
*Do not shout, yell, or make any quick, sharp sounds, as the device will often interpret this as engine/background noise and make it very difficult to initiate VOX.
You can also use the Voice Commands by first pressing the ‘Voice Command’ button on the module itself (not the ‘A’ button.) The headset will beep when this button is pressed and wait for your command from there.
Please feel free to contact us if we can assist you with any other questions.
Best Regards,
Justin Briggs
