• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scala G9 Problem

Any of you have G9's with an occasional cut out? Yesterday Linda and I were out and had the helmets in out trunks with the radios shut off while we toured the county fair. Got ready to leave turned the radios on, got all the usual jabber including the "rider a connected" hit the "A" button on my unit got the two beeps a few seconds apart, I could hear her fine she couldn't here me. Her speakers were okay as she was hearing all the messages from the unit as it started up. Tired several on/off cycles with both and couldn't get it working. I'm thinking bad mic on mine unit and plan to try the wired mic later today but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Ride safe,

I had an issue similar with our Teamset Pro units once. They suddenly just dropped talking mid sentence near a cell phone tower (coincidence probably). We had to get the manual and do the re-sync steps to reconnect them. Since that, we've had no problems. It was very weird.

We have the G9 as well. We had a problem yesterday while on a 200 mile run. Mine would cut out and I would have to hit the button to get intercom back. It would also go to "radio on". That was annoying since all I get is static. They had a full charge. I'm going to try and pair them again.

Thanks for the ideas guys

I think I will try re-pairing ours and see if that helps. We have 2 audio kits each on our helmets and have had this problem just once with the other helmet sets. That time turning the units on and off worked.

Will try and then report back.

Update

Since I last wrote I've update the radios and we have tried them on all our helmets. Doesn't seem to mater I can hear her but she cant hear me and when we switch radios she can hear me but I cant hear her. I've come to the conclusion that the one radio is not modulating the signal. I'm assuming that it's transmitting as we get the various "link" messages between them on start up. Right now I'm waiting to hear from Cardo. See how long that takes.

Ride safe,

One other thing you might check is that the speakers have a little volume adjustment dial on them. We have inadvertently turned the volume off but only in one speaker. Good luck

Thanks, Ann, I was unaware of that "feature" not sure it's mentioned in the "manual" :banghead: :banghead:.

Hope you're back on the road soon.

G9 static...

ours will drop intercom when still with no noises present and have to call intercom. We ryde long and usually run out of battery which is normal. What we will have happen is one or the other will go into a static cycle which will stay there for a long time. If we turn that one off then back on it works fine. Otherwise they work great. The static problem has only happened once on one and twice on the other and we have had them for a year...:dontknow:

You ride with the mic open the whole time? That would make me nuts. I listen to music and if I want to talk to my husband I hit the intercom button. We shut them off when we stop for a meal and typically the battery will last around 10 - 12 hours.

Download Updates

If you haven't already done so, connect your units to the computer, go to the Cardo website and make sure you have the most recent software;) download. We were having issues with ours where after a couple of hours we would get a horrendous static sound and be not able to hear each other. After speaking to Cardo we attached the units to our computer, downloaded the latest software and they work great now. Kinda of like updating your Spyder using the Buds.....;)

Did the updates we're 1.5. Does anyone know if there is a way to set them back to factory default? Another question somewhat unrelated. I use Firefox as my default browser so far I have not been able to get the updater to work with it and I'm forced to use IE. Does anyone have it working with Firefox and did you have to do anything in particular to get it to run?

Thanks
