• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sandy is a girl I don't really want to meet!

I would imagine your flight will be cancelled.I live 30 miles north of Baltimore and last year we were without power for over a week with "Irene".We live in the woods and my concern is trees.I am also pulling for the purple line track as after about 3 days I hate the sound of generators.:gaah::gaah:Funny how you take for granted what the power companies give you untill you don't have it.I know why before electricity
people looked at the stars at night;what else was there to do?

Yeah, doesn't look good for NJ/NY. Current track has it coming on shore at Ocean City. But you really have to pay attention to the cone of uncertainty. Storm surge is expected to be 4-8 feet. Snow in the higher elevations of New York, New Jersey, Maryland and West Virginia is expected to be up to 50", that's right fifty inches. This is not a storm to take lightly. Sure it could take the eastward track, but not likely. Currently we have winds steady at 15 gusting to 25. No rain, the rain sits right on the eastern boarder of our county but hasn't progressed any further all day. As Kris said, we have family right in the path so we're really concerned. Ron, you ain't goin' no where Bro.

Uh, correction on storm surge. How about up to 14'.

Flying from Knoxville to Dulles this next Monday evening.... Any thoughts?

I would delay your trip if at all possible. Weather warning posted from Monday 2AM, through to late Tuesday night. Schools and events are already being cancelled. I live 10 minutes from the airport. Let's try to share a meal some evening, if you have time.

The National Weather Service is calling for gusts as high as 55mph Monday evening up here... :yikes: If I'm not my usual noisy self on Tuesday; our office might have gotten clobbered by some annoying Pine trees...

Does anybody remember when weather was something you reacted to and talked about after the fact, not several days before? :dontknow:

I hope and pray that all of our friends are doing better, finding some kind of normalcy after this devastating storm. Being originally from New Jersey, it breaks my heart to see how so many of the places that we used to go in the summer are no longer there. We are very thankful that our families weathered the storm with little or no problem. Take care, all of you who were in Sandy's path. We're here for you.
