• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking to save some money and purchased the Nelson-Rigg CL-950 instead of the R-35s. Only problem is in order to locate them far enough back to allow the passenger to use the extended footpegs they block the turn signals. I believe the R-35 bags require relocating the turn signals, and I presume a bracket is provided with the kit to accomplish that. Is there an alternate method to move back the lights? If not I guess I'll have to return the NR and pony up for the R-35s.

Already way over budget - who knew there were so many cool mods!

I started with the NR silver streak bags and after five months, switched to the GIVI R-35. All R-35 kits whether from BRP, I7 or GIVI require turn signal relocation. I went the least expensive route with Givi kit from Sport Tour which requires that the turn signals be relocated to the rear fender. Some don't like that set up, but you get used to it. Cheapest way to get the R-35 cases.

If you want to stay with the NR, ISCI Billy can get you turn signal relocation brackets that would allow the NR bags to push back. They are not on the ISCI web site, but he told me he has some sets available. That would be the cheapest route. You can see them on his "GIVI trunk and saddlebags" post of 2/8/10.

BRPJunkie - can you tell me what it was about the NR that made you decide to buy the R-35s?

The NR bags are very high quality and there was nothing about them that changed my mind. The R-35s are just more convenient, I like their looks on the Spyder and we could get our HJC full face helmets in the R-35s freeing the trunk space for jackets, etc. I resisted when the only set up was I7 at $1,000 for color matched cases. When I saw the Givi set up at $750 including shipping from Sport Tour, I decided to go for it. Yes the Givi set up does require some work to relocate the turn signals to the fender, but you can get around that with the ISCI turn signal brackets. It's really a decision on how much space you need and what you want to spend. If all you need space for is rain gear and a few changes of clothes, the NR will work fine. If you ride two up and your spouse or passenger likes to take more than a few things, the extra room provided by the R-35 set up is nice. I thought the detachable feature would be nice, but once the R-35s were on, I never take them off. Some spend for performance, some for safety, some for lighting, some for funtion, some for convenience, some for comfort. Figure out your priorities and allocate your limited accessory dollars accordingly.

Thanks for the comments, I'm going to get the R-35s. They look better, fit the bike better, more room. The Spyder is a lot like my BOAT (Break Out Another Thousand)!

As far as turn signals go. Dave was nice enough to add the LED lights in place of the reflectors on the GIVIs and those are my Turn sigs. Very bright indeed and also very far out to the sides!
