I cannot begin to understand how someone would do this to anyone. In our case the person who hurt my dog was mad at me for something and this was their way of getting even. The vet in our small town injected the dog with alcohol for 2 days keeping him drunk. This treatment is controversial but it worked. The alcohol reduced the absorption of the antifreeze. Unfortunately the chances of this being a random act are slim. It was most likely someone that lives nearby that you probably know.

I don't know if I would want to find out for sure who it was or not-- because I couldn't restrain myself from opening a can of whoop-a** on them!

I hope the one that made it makes a full recovery-- but they are emotional creatures and will miss and mourn the sibling.

Losing my dog was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through - they are family members -- but better because dogs give their unconditional love.

We are very sorry for your loss of one of your family. We have four cats and we had to put our Missy to sleep. It still bothers us because she was a member of our family. We hope you can find out who did this and have them punished to the fullest!!!!

Sorry for your loss, I have been breeding bassets since 1989, I know what its like to lose one. I have a male tri from last year that did not sell. He's a very sweet basset. Sad day for our family today!
While I was out having lunch with a friend. Someone poisened our dogs, putting Anti-Freeze in their water dish. We have a fenced in yard. One of our dogs did not make it. Our dogs are very friendly and good.
How can people be so cruel? What were they thinking? What have they ever done to you?

Brigitte, Carol and I want to express our deepest sympathy for your family and loss of your pet. We know how it is for someone to take away one of your family. We no longer have pets that can be outdoors because of the loss of several dogs and cats to those who can't stand for another person's animal to roam a little bit onto their land. I've lost count of the ones we had to put down or that just didn't come home one day.

I too am extremely sorry for what has happened and "dittos" on one of the comments that said they ARE family.

I know that I'm going to probably raise some eyebrows, but my bet is either juveniles who are "bored" OR someone that might have a "hard on" (used in the slang sense) for you or someone in your family.

I hope they, law enforcement, finds the.....the.....f.....ers and are able to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. The problem will be proof.

Again, I'm truly sorry for what has happened.
