There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ryker Headlights switch & icons are reversed - anyone else? Any fixes?

Anyone besides me has the light switch reverse? The low beam light and the high beam icon are on when the switch is on high beam and the high beam light comes on when the switch is on low beam. I've reversed the wires on the switch and it worked, but the high beam icon followed the low beam wires so it's on with the Low beam switch. I'm hoping I can fix this issue instead of riding over an hour away to the dealer in California Traffic.

Seems to me that the high beam icon should be lit when the low beams are on so you can see the high beam icon in the dark making it easier to identify to turn them on, then reverses to allow the same functionality for the low beam. In other words, the light indicates what to push to activate.

That would be bass ackwards.

The blue high beam icon in the dash is getting annoying. lol

If that bit I bolded is correct, then it sounds to me like you swapped the wires on the wrong end!!? :dontknow: The underlined bit suggests that the Hi beam switch & icon are showing & working as they should, but down at the light end, there's something wrong & the low beam side of the circuit is being powered in error when it should be powering the hi-beam side of the circuit! :lecturef_smilie:

So I reckon you should put the wires on the SWITCH back where they were, and then look at & maybe even swap the wires down at the LIGHTS!

Just sayin'...

I reversed the wires in the switch since it's the only idea I know. I didn't want to mess with the wires inside the engine wherever that might be. The only issue I have is the blue high beam icon on the dash is on when in Low beam. Of course, the icon is not on with the high beam. I will use the high-tech method by using black tape...for now. Maybe someone that had this issue in the past might have a fix and will chime in.

That's because you changed the switch end wires & not the light end wires! :lecturef_smilie: . You swapping those switch wires changed the switch position that triggers the blue dash icon - if you'd left the switch alone & just swapped the wires on the back of the light globes instead, your icon would still be showing at the right time & the Hi/Lo light illumination would have been corrected to match. ;) . It's only a plug you need to turn over or maybe couple of wires you need to swap, pretty much exactly the same sorta thing as what you did on the switch end, but of course it will be on the back of the lights!

Or you can use the black tape.... which will probably work fine for a while - until the first time it goes into service if they bother to check the lights; in which case you'll get to pay for the privilege of them working out what you've done at the switch end, correcting that, and then fixing things at the light end, putting it to how it should have been in the first place instead of how you got it!! Only that diagnosis bit might take some time & so cost a fair amount.....

Over to you!

There should only be two wires on the back of each light; possibly three, but one is a ground! So you really shouldn't require too much in the way of instruction :dontknow: After reverting to the original switch connections, find the back of your lights; then swap the wire from what should be the low beam globe/filament (but isn't!) so that it plugs in to the high beam globe/filament & vice versa. Repeat as appropriate for any other lights.

Yes H4 bulb, there are 3 wires behind the light. one top middle and two sides. I'm going to guess the top middle is the ground?

I haven't done it yet but the wire swap will be the socket plugging into the bulb.

07/21 update: Rode the Ryker tonight and like normal my light switch is on low beam. However, when I rode through a parking lot I've noticed that the light beam was high. So, I put the switch to high beam and the light was on low, huh it reversed itself? So, the Icon on the dash is now on with the high beam like normal. So, it's back to normal somehow and I haven't done any changes? Now I just need to reverse back the wires on the switch and everything should be good. I can't believe this.
