Running rough at low rpm. Plugs? Water?

I think so too. I also checked the ohms on the coils and all read 1.5, so I think the coils are good.
I will clean the plugs and check the gaps, put it back together and put some injector cleaner in and run it for a while.

Just something else that just "MAYBE" worth a look...If the purge valve is stuck open...It will be a vacuum leak that could cause a low rpm miss...Purge valve malfunction do not set a code...

I had a purge valve problem with my 2014 RTS several years ago...It would stick open and cause hard starts when hot...when it would finally start it would act like the engine was flooded.. (and it was with gas fumes) Had to give it a a couple of good higher rpm's runs and all would be well...Till it decided to act up again and who knew when that would happen??? I ended up venting the gas tank directly to the atmosphere and blocking off the purge valve...Problem never reappeared...larryd

Too bad you went thru the trouble of pulling the plugs, may as well change them now.

The fact that you don't have a missfire code pretty much rules out the plugs or coils or ignition system. What you're left with is a fuel problem. It's probably an injector issue, here's a way to diagnose.Take your air cleaner out and get a can of starting fluid. With the engine running at idle or whatever speed it seems to be the roughest, spray a small fine mist of ether into the filter chamber - you will be creating a work around for a poorly operating injector. Now you don't want to flood it out, so try to keep the spray small. If it sounds smoother, then you have proven the problem. If there's any way you can deliver the spray to just one cylinder at a time, you can figure out which cylinder is at fault. There's another way of doing it which is the way most pros would, and that is to use a small can of propane with a nozzle and spray the propane into the air filter chamber. I used to have one with a regulator and a deadman's valve in case you dropped it. Since you have the plugs out anyway, use a spark tester, crank the engine, and look for spark just in case. What I think has happened is that the tip of the injector is just a little clogged, which is something that can happen on bike that sits for a while. In a shop we would hook the injectors up to a flushing unit and push thru a mixture of 50/50 Techron and gas, or use a cleaner from Snap-On. You can't do that, so try running a heavy mix of techron or the cleaner of your choice thru that engine. It may take some time. Remember that at idle, the injector is only flowing a miniscule amount of fuel, so if it's even just a little sticky or clogged with dried fuel (varnish) then it won't have enuf to fire cleanly. Also, the guy posting above me has a good idea about the purge valve.

You guy's may get your answers to your questions quicker if you PM him, it was back in 22 he posted it.:dontknow:

I also have a 16 RTL had similar problems changed plugs and pulled injectors and cleaned them runs great now.

Anyone still active on this thread? I've got a 2016 F3 with the same issue. It's the Wife’s bike. She hasn’t ridden it in 3 years. High rpm was ok, just a few sputters, but Low rpm was terrible. I pumped out as much fuel as I could; added stabilizer; and 93 octane gas, then put 40 miles on it last night. I’ll do it again tonight. The air filter was clean as a whistle. I do not want the challenge of changing plugs ss I've heard that’s a nightmare. I'm ordering a fuel filter today. I think a few tanks full of clean gas is going to be the answer. It idled better when I got home.
Does anyone get theirs professionally serviced? She has 4000 miles only. I could change the oil and filter as well. Suggestions? Ormond Beach/Daytona has a Dealership.

The ethanol fuel gums up everything. Keep riding it with the fuel treatment in the tank, it should clear up.

Once it does and you're going to let it sit for a very long time either add fuel treatment before parking it (make sure to ride it after adding/before sitting to get this fuel into/thru the system) or add non ethanol fuel to an almost empty tank.

Get a bottle of this

I haven't tried this product. But I do like Amsoil products in general and hopefully, this will do the trick. It wouldn't hurt to run some straight gasoline in the Spyder. Especially if it's going to sit. Straight gas is much better over time and it's getting easier to find. Many stations now carry 'Off Road' fuel, which is straight gas.

If this Amsoil product doesn't do it for you. Try this. Put 1/2 of the contents in a full tank. Yes, a heavy mix. But it has worked very well for us. Then put the reminder into a 2nd full tank. If this doesn't clear things up, you'll need to clean the injectors by pulling them (which we also do often in scenarios like yours). Again, straight gas can go a long way towards avoiding this issue.

Of course if you get that deep into it, it's a good idea to also change spark plugs while you're there even if you don't need them yet.
