• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Running rich? Wheel noise?

#1. I have 900 miles on my 09 Spyder and when driving from around 40mph to 60mph it sounds like its running rich and sputtering a little. Is that normal and is that the purge valve I have seen people write about?

#2. I also hear a high pitched whining noise between 45-60mph, sounds like the whine of the wheels and bearings turning, I am hoping that is normal?

1. BRP is to realease a second update to address this issue.
2. Have the dealer check the tension and position of the belt.

Mine does that too when im in 5th gear around 40-50mph. I think the Spyder likes to be reved a little bit, in 4th gear same speed, it does'nt act like that.

You should be doing 70+ in 5th gear. It is meant to ryde with high rpms. Don't go below 5000 rpms in a gear or you'll be totally lugging it.

I finallly found a 36mm socket at Advance Auto Parts ($20), its an axle nut socket, industrial quality and strength. I loosened up the allen wrench adjustment 1/4 turn at a time with test drives in between and after 1 1/2 turns, Voila', the whining is gone and she is a quiet as a purring kitten! One problem down, one to go..........

Mine was sputtering and stuff when I put a new pipe on it, but then I bought the juice box and doens't have that problem anymore now that's it's tuned right...I usually stick with 2nd 20-30mph, 3rd 30-40mph, 4th 40-50mph and 5th for over 50mph...but that's just how I do it, if I really wanna get on it, I drag raced my buddy and I was in 2nd getting ready to hit 3rd and looked down to see I was at 74mph...but it got up and went.....
