• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Running on fumes

Cool..!!

watched the video on the construction and running posted awhile back. Looks simple enough but then who knows with videos here. He did get the idea from some friend who had run his mower for some seven days on fumes...:yikes: Wonder what the mileage would be on a spyder..??:dontknow:

I think it is a scam... We don't know if the relay he pulled was to the fuel pump... also... yea... put you hand on the intake tubes engine will die... no air.... how about pull the tubes out of the intake while it is running and lets see if it dies or keeps running. Also fuel helps to cool the engine... this is not fuel just vapors... engine would over heat...

It can work; I've been running on fumes for years!

A plastic can full of gas on a hot engine ??????????????? No air cleaner...What does a vacum cleaner do with suction ??
I will pass and please let me know if you are using it around me.

Sorry, you're wrong. Engine won't overheat and fuel has nothing to do with cooling the engine. Natural gas and LP gas engines run on vapor. Which is what the engine in the video is running on. The engine is cooled by the coolant system.

Ever heard of vapor lock??? Vapor lock is when the fuel turns into vapor from heat or what ever and causes the liquid fuel to turn into a vapor state. The engine won't run with it in this state as it can't be sprayed and controlled by the injectors and pressure regulators properly same in carburetor engines.

Gasoline has a narrow flammable range and is metered precisely in a
vehicle's carburetor to obtain the desired flammable range.
A vehicle will have trouble operating if the carburetor meters too much
gasoline. This is referred to as a rich mixture, which is
too concentrated for ignition by the spark plugs. Too little gasoline in
a vehicle's carburetor is called a lean mixture, which is too
diluted for ignition

I'm pretty sure BRP had this in mind when they decided to run the exhaust pipes around the gas tank. They apparently got sidetracked and abandoned the idea, but forgot to reroute the exhaust pipes to stop vaporizing the gas...
