For all of you out there that are interested in the ride of your life, then you need to check into the Run for the wall organization. It is combination of civilian and military veterans and active military. If you go to the website, www.rftw.org and read the story of the beginning of rftw you will understand it a lot better than I can explain it. It starts in Ontario, CA and goes all the way to Washington DC, arriving on the Friday before memorial day. There are three (3) routes, central, middle, and southern. This ride is to make awareness of POW/MIA's still unaccounted for. It is also a time for Vietnam veterans to be welcomed home, and to help all veterans in a healing process. This is for all veterans, and civilians, everyone is welcomed to attend. Now this is not the type of ride that a group just gets together and then everyone just heads down the road. It is a very well organized function, you are placed into a platoon, with up to 20-30 bikes, this year the central group had 10 platoons, the 9th platoon was bikes with trailers and the 10th platoon was trikes and trikes with trailers. We had up to 308 bikes in our group, as I said it is organized, and it is a beautiful site going down the interstate and you can see down the highway in long stretches and all you see is motorcycles side by side. And along the way you witness the patriotism of the people of this country, it is unbelievable. You see them on the overpasses waving the American flag, and police depts. and fire depts. with their ladder trucks, with the big American flag waving in the breeze. These individuals wait anywhere from one to two hours on these overpasses just to see us go by, and from the time they first see us, to when the last rider goes by is less the 10 minutes. If you go to YOUTUBE and type in RFTW, they have a lot of video on this, watch how they pull into cities and see the people on the side of the streets cheering everyone. As a rider I can tell you it'll bring a tear to your eye. Now it don't matter what type of bike you ride, everyone is welcome, there are only a small percentage of Can Am riders, I am one, and I challenge all of you out there to meet me in Ontario, CA next May for the ride of your life, All groups leave Ontario on 17 May, at 8:00 AM, I'll be there, JARHEAD JOHN,
