There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. RTS speakers

If the stock speakers are std. automotive sizes,I think there are better choices other than J&M.

I bought J&M's for my Harley and they were not much better than stock with no amp.An amp with good speakers would be the best improvment IMO.

Personally I thought fronts were a little more involved then the backs? However again only time consuming, not really difficult. They are a direct "plug and play" set-up for the Spyder. The performance to me is for sure better, however I would not say it is night and day by any means?
I've been looking at whatever I can find about the installation process; the back doesn't scare me much...
It's the fronts...

And I've got to make this a VERY discreet purchase and installation; The Missus is on the warpath due to past "mistakes" on my part... :opps:

:agree: Like I have mention before, it is a matter of choice and playing with parts until you find your sound. Because these are on an open enviroment, motorcycles are not exactly the best unit's to get the best acustic tone.

The fronts are easier than you think. It looks worse than it is.

My last discrete purchase got me in the dog house too. Glad you could join me. :D

Still... more volume with less distortion has got to help...

I do get caught once in a while, and it ain't pretty!
But I get away with it a lot more than I should be able to! :D

I saw someone at the owners event who had some tweeters mounted directly over the speakers and they said they made a big difference - they were mounted on the front speaker grill towards the tope (up in the wing like area)

sorry, I forgot what brand tweeter but I do belive it was the guy from Spyder Attitudes

as far as asking someone if something they sell makes a difference, what would you expect them to say? no, it sucks? I would ask someone who has replaced them.

Not necesarily... when you are parked/stopped, YES it makes a WORLD of a diference. As you add distortion (acceleration and high speeds), acustic resonance becomes more and more of vanishing act. Remember that sound is moved by waves, and by adding wind, those waves become distorted so quality downgrades.

I think all married men have been in the dog house at one point. The one's that haven't are either slaves or the wife doesn't carenojoke Getting away with it is knowing your wife's soft spots... I guess the secret of a long marrige!

The "BOOM" speaker upgrade from Harley were a great upgrade on my ElectraGlide (when I had it).
Would get those if they would fit.

One big complaint that i have about the OEM speakers; it's difficult to get a full range of response out of them.
If you try to dial up the treble; the bass suffers. Dial up the bass, and you lose treble.
Pump up the midrange, and you lose both ends...

I remember reading a few of the ST owners (with the audio system installed... not sure if the LT has it but I know that the ST-S and below doesn't) saying that their sound while riding was better than the RT. I would need to judge that myself, but the speaker seating configuration is similar to the RT. Windshield postitioning has some effect on this as well...

Nature of the beast. All single woofer speakers have that issue. Installing a separate tweeter aliviates that. If you like more treble, raise the treble and balance your sound to the front speakers. If you like more bass, raise the bass and balance it towards the back speakers. Bass has a deeper and stronger resonance than treble, that is why you set it to the back.

So who will be the first to incorporate a sub woofer into thier Frunk or rear Rrunk?

Actaully the right side saddle bag might be a good place... :-)

WHo can make thier system loud enough so that you can play Jet Engine sounds through it to confuse other motorists at stop lights?

I know I've seen them in a few events, but didn't get to take pics...:banghead: But I like what was done to this RS: http://blog.sonicelectronix.com/new.../can-am-spyder-w-massive-audio-gear-ces-2012/

GREAT IDEA!

has anyone tried those 'torpedo tube' looking speaking RS users use on an RT? they would seem to be very directional
